MINNELLI COLLAPSES ON STAGE
Veteran singer LIZA MINNELLI has collapsed on stage during a concert in Sweden.
The 61-year-old was performing a Christmas show in Stockholm on Wednesday (12Dec07) night when she shocked the audience by passing out and falling off the stage.
The star was caught by a technician, escaping serious injury.
Minnelli was rushed to hospital but was later discharged and treated by doctors back at her hotel before being flown back to the U.S. early on Thursday (13Dec07) morning.
Although the cause of her collapse is still unknown, concert promoter Zlakto Nedanovski insists Minnelli was feeling unwell before the gig but decided to go ahead anyway. He says, "You could see she was in pain. It was a terrible situation. They (the doctors) decided together with her management that it’s best for Liza to go to the U.S. right away."
