COMPOSER IMBRIE DIES
Composer ANDREW IMBRIE has died after a long illness. He was 86.
Imbrie, who was best known for his 1976 opera Angle Of Repose, passed away at his Berkeley, California home on 5 December (07).
He was also a university music professor at UC Berkeley between 1949 and 1991 and taught at the San Francisco Conservatory Of Music from 1976 to 2004.
Imbrie was a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 1995 for his cantata Adam.
