SPEARS MISSES DEPOSITION DUE TO ‘GENERAL’ ILLNESS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:45 pm

LATEST: An illness prevented BRITNEY SPEARS from attending a court-ordered deposition in her ongoing custody trial on Wednesday (12Dec07) morning.
The Toxic singer was expected to give her deposition under oath at the Los Angeles offices of her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan at 10am.
When Spears failed to show up, the lawyer was forced to start without her, taking testimony from the singer’s former assistant Alli Sims and ex-manager Larry Rudolph, among others.
Kaplan says, "I was told of a general (medical) condition, and Spears felt she couldn’t attend." A new date for Spears’ deposition has been chosen, but not made public.
Sims and Rudolph were both served subpoenas by Kaplan earlier this year (07).
The attorney hopes to determine whether Spears drinks alcohol or uses drugs in front of her young children.

I AM LEGEND APPLAUDED FOR SHUNNING ALBINOS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:42 pm

WILL SMITH has been applauded by a British organisation, for refusing to use albinos in his new movie I AM LEGEND.
Officials at the National Organisation Of Albinism And Hypopigmentation (NOAH) feared film makers would follow the same direction as 1971 film The Omega Man - adapted from the same Robert Matheson novel - and make Smith the last man on earth facing an army of albino villains.
They blame the movie for starting a trend of making albinos movie villains, citing The Matrix and The Da Vinci Code as examples.
So the organisation’s bosses were delighted to discover Smith tackles zombies instead.
A NOAH statement reads. "Will Smith appears relieved to be dealing with a vampire, not an evil character with albinism.
"The latest film version of the I Am Legend tale stars Will Smith as final living human. Notably absent are evil characters with albinism.
"When this material was last made into a movie in 1971 as The Omega Man, Charlton Heston single-handedly took on a cult of virally altered humans. A bio-terror attack transformed Los Angeles denizens into monk-robed, sunglass-wearing villains with white skin, light eyes and alabaster afros.
"The Omega Man jump-started a trend which persisted unchecked for over 30 years - the movie stereotype of an evil albino.
"We are delighted to report that no mainstream Hollywood releases in 2007 have featured evil albino characters. We can only hope this trend away from red-eyed killers with albinism will continue."

PARTON PULLED OUT OF SUICIDAL TENDENCIES BY STALLONE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:42 pm

DOLLY PARTON credits SYLVESTER STALLONE with saving her from suicide - because he helped cheer her up when she was at her lowest.
The country star had just learned she’d never be able to give birth after a hysterectomy and plunged into a deep depression.
Then, she started work on flop 1984 movie Rhinestone with Stallone and he made her chuckle every day.
The singer tells U.S. tabloid the Globe, "It was an awful time for me…
Every day I thought, ‘I wish I had the nerve to kill myself.’" And then, along came Stallone: "Even though the movie didn’t do that well, that was one of my greatest projects because Stallone was so full of life and so crazy and funny, and he made me laugh a lot, which was really healthy for me. That got me back on track."

NICHOLSON HOPES TO AVOID ‘STUPIDITY’ OF DEATH FROM SMOKING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:36 pm

Legendary actor JACK NICHOLSON worries about contracting a smoking-related disease - because it will prove how stupid he was to smoke his whole adult life.
The 70-year-old star, who has recently cut back on his intake of cigarettes, insists health warnings have never tempted him to quit smoking.
He says, "I can tell you this from 100 per cent experience. No one has ever criticised me in any way about smoking that, while they were saying it, it didn’t inflame my desire to smoke…
"Look, nobody should smoke. It is not so much that you fear that moment when somebody comes in and says, ‘That’s it. You’re dead. You smoked too much.’ Well, that’s not the real fear.
"The real fear is going through now the process and thinking, ‘I’m dying of stupidity.’ This is the self-recrimination about it."
