LA SCALA ORCHESTRA IN JACKETLESS PROTEST
The orchestra at famed Italian opera house La Scala will mouth a ‘jackets off’ protest at the gala opening of the opera season on Friday (07Dec07).
The musicians plan to play in shirtsleeves with a black armband, symbolising they are in mourning over the company’s failure to increase salaries and bonuses.
The orchestra will alos hold a union meeting in the interval of Richard Wagner’s Tristan And Isolde.
