LOHAN BODYGUARD SUES U.S. MAGAZINE FOR LIBEL
A former bodyguard of LINDSAY LOHAN is suing Star magazine for libel, claiming the U.S. publication printed his photo alongside an article in which another minder broke his silence about the actress’ private life.
In legal papers, filed in Los Angeles on Friday (30Nov07), Andrae ‘Doc’ Renard alleges the feature, published in June (07) has "irreparably damaged" his professional reputation.
Renard claims Star magazine used his likeness instead of the bodyguard quoted in the article, Lee Weaver, and is suing the publication for libel, negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
He is seeking compensatory damages and legal costs.
