HALLIWELL APOLOGISES FOR QUITTING PAST TOUR
SPICE GIRL GERI HALLIWELL issued an emotional apology to her bandmates and fans at their comeback gig in Vancouver, Canada, on Sunday (02Dec07) - for leaving the group the first time around.
The singer, known as Ginger Spice, quit the band in 1998, leaving Victoria ‘Posh’ Beckham, Emma ‘Baby’ Bunton, Melanie ‘Scary’ Brown and Melanie ‘Sporty’ Chisholm just before they were due to embark on their big U.S. tour.
And Halliwell decided to take the opportunity of the opening night of the Spice Girls’ world tour to make amends in front of 15,800 fans.
She said, "I would like to say a big sorry to all the fans… especially those in America. I walked out on you as well as the girls.
"You never got to see us as a five-piece… this is my opportunity to make it up to everyone. Thanks for the second chance." Accepting her apology, Brown replied: "All is forgiven, the five of us are back and ready to rock your world."
