MORRISSEY SWITCHES RECORD LABEL
British singer MORRISSEY has switched record labels after signing a new deal with Decca.
The former Smiths frontman, who is "very excited" about the contract, will release his first album with Decca next February (08) - a greatest hits compilation featuring two new songs.
Decca’s managing director Bogdan Roscic says, "Not so many artists can look back on more than 25 years at the top of their game, staying as credible, creative and relevant as on the first day. "From the recent performances and the new material, I know 2008 is going to be a stellar year for Morrissey, and we are very proud he is now a Decca artist." The 48-year-old is currently in Los Angeles recording his ninth solo album, which is due for release next autumn (08).
