LATEST: New York police believe rapper FABOLOUS’ friend SHAMEL McKINNEY was stabbed to death trying to rob a man in a nightclub.
McKinney was killed during a confrontation in Duvet last month (Nov07). It is unclear if Fabolous was with him at the time.
Cops claim McKinney was part of a Street Family, including around 20 of Fabolous’ associates, who trawl Manhattan hotspots stealing jewellery from wealthy celebrities and sports stars.
Fabolous - real name John Jackson - has stringently denied being at the scene of the killing - but a nightclub promoter has insisted he was there.
Police are investigating the incident and have yet to make an arrest.
