A Russian man stole a woman’s cake as she walked by him, then asked her to call police so he could return to prison.
The man - who had recently served a 12-year-sentence - stole the cake in Kransnoyarsk and demanded police be called to take him back to prison.
When the police - who said motives for the crime were unclear - arrived, the mugger calmly told them he wanted to return to jail.
He is now facing a potential jail sentence of three years for the crime.
