BROADWAY STRIKE DEAL REACHED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:39 pm

LATEST: Stagehands at Broadway theatres in New York have reached a deal with producers to end the strikes that have resulted in the closure of more than 20 shows in two weeks.
Cast and crew on all Broadway productions have been on strike since 10 November (07), supporting stagehands’ quest for better pay.
But the walk-out caused a number of high-profile productions, including The Grinch, Hairspray, Chicago and Wicked, to close.
Stagehands and producers finally reached an agreement on Wednesday (28Nov07) and performances are set to resume on Thursday (29Nov07).
Charlotte St Martin, head of the League of American Theatres and Producers, says, "The contract is a good compromise that serves our industry. What is most important is that Broadway’s lights will once again shine brightly."
