$1 bridge
A US village is selling their bridge for a $1.
Officials in the town of Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin, want to get rid of the decaying Kickapoo River Bridge - which was built in 1910 - as quickly as possible as they fear it will soon collapse.
They hope the low price tag will attract buyers who can sell it for scrap metal.
Village board member Vicki Campbell said: "With the steel prices what they are right now, we thought this was an opportune time to sell it." The bridge - which was a major connection for the town - has not been used by traffic for 31 years since the state Department of Transportation recommended closing it because of its age and condition.
An alternative route into Soldiers Grove was built in its place.
