LATEST: BRITNEY SPEARS has denied news reports she’s pregnant with her third child.
American publications have reported the pop star is four weeks pregnant with music producer J.R. Rotem’s baby - and the young mogul has reportedly confirmed the news overnight (27-28Nov07).
Rotem, who has dated Spears on and off throughout 2007, allegedly told In Touch Weekly magazine, "It’s true." The Toxic singer, who turns 26 on Sunday (02Dec07), reportedly emailed close friends a copy of her baby’s ultrasound on 16 November (07), swearing her confidantes to secrecy.
But now Spears is speaking out about the story, insisting she is not with child.
After spending the night shooting a video for her new song Piece of Me in Hollywood, Spears sent a cellphone text to Los Angeles radio host Ryan Seacrest to rubbish reports early on Wednesday (28Nov07).
Heading home "to sleep" after the all-night shoot, Spears wrote, "It’s B.S, I don’t know who made it up. J.R. doesn’t even know what’s up. It’s fake, completely fake." Spears then apologised for not phoning into the show, explaining, "(The) paparazzi are trying to kill us, otherwise I’d talk."

LINDSAY LOHAN has been ordered to give a deposition for a negligence lawsuit filed against her earlier this year (07) after crashing her car in October 2005.
The actress is being sued by victim Raymundo Ortega for crashing her Mercedes-Benz into his red van in Hollywood, after allegedly drinking at celebrity hotspot The Ivy.
Lohan’s attorneys have been attempting to have plans for the star to give evidence on videotape scrapped, amid fears the footage could later be sold on for a large amount of cash, reports TMZ.com.
They claimed: "If a single picture of Ms. Lohan can sell for thousands of dollars, a videotape of the deposition will undoubtedly sell for tens of thousands of dollars, or more." But on Wednesday (28Nov07), Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Stern dismissed their argument and ruled Lohan must give video evidence.
The 21-year-old has filed her own countersuit against Ortega, alleging he and a number of unspecified defendants caused the accident.
A trial date of 7 April (08) has been set for both cases.

EDDIE MURPHY will meet his daughter ANGEL IRIS for the first time when he clashes in court with her mother MELANIE BROWN.
Murphy is refusing to pay child support for the eight-month-old girl, and he only acknowledged he fathered her after undergoing a DNA test.
The actor and the Spice Girl are soon due for a court date to agree on maintenance arrangements - and Brown has vowed to take Angel to meet her dad for the first time.
She says, "Angel has not met her dad yet. I don’t think she will until it goes to court. I can’t force anybody to do anything. I’ve done as much as I can do."

Pregnant CHRISTINA AGUILERA was crippled with fears for her unborn child during her world tour earlier this year (07) - she wore a carefully-hidden heart monitor in case of emergency.
The pop star admits she was terrified when she found out she was pregnant during the seven-month Back To Basics tour, which ended in May (07), and would have quit if doctors hadn’t come up with an ingenious way of reducing the risks.
She says, "I was paranoid. There are so many things that could go wrong somebody could slip, somebody could fall, I could fall. There was no way in hell I was going to jeopardise my baby for my show.
"I didn’t want to make the audience uncomfortable, like, ‘Pregnant lady onstage! Is she going to be okay?’ But I had to announce it to my band and my dancers, because I wanted to make sure they had my back." Aguilera is expecting her first child with husband Jordan Bratman early next year (08).

Tennis champ VENUS WILLIAMS has injured herself playing a celebrity doubles match with U.S. TV host REGIS PHILBIN.
The pair teamed up to take on Bahamian professional Mark Knowles and TV producer Michael Gelman on Tuesday (27Nov07).
Williams and Kelly toasted their victory when the match aired on Wednesday’s Live with Regis & Kelly.
But the Grand Slam champion confessed she was left hobbling around after the game: "I pulled my hamstring. I got up this morning and hobble hobble. But I’m used to injuries. I just block them out."

British actor DOUGLAS HODGE has been forced to pull out of rehearsals for London stage play LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, after falling ill with bronchitis.
The 47-year-old star was due to take on the lead role of Albin in the Terry Johnson-directed production at the capital’s Menier Chocolate Factory, but is currently resting after he was diagnosed with bronchitis in both lungs, causing severe bronchospasm (difficulty breathing).
But Hodge is confident of making a full recovery, and is hoping to return to La Cage Aux Folles in mid-December (07), before the play’s official opening in January (08). Understudy Spencer Stafford is currently filling in for Hodge.

TV host KELLY RIPA made a dramatic recovery from a bout of stomach flu to return to LIVE WITH REGIS & KELLY on Wednesday (28Nov07) - just 24 hours after she fled the show.
Ripa was forced to cut short a live broadcast from the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas on Monday (26Nov07) when she fell ill.
Co-host Regis Philbin later told viewers,"Kelly is a little bit under the weather right now." Ripa returned on Wednesday, and credited her parents with nursing her to a speedy recovery.
After Philbin joked, "She’s pregnant again," Ripa told viewers, "I am sorry about that. It caught me by surprise.
"My parents took care of me all night. Cold compresses and nice hot tea."

DANCING WITH THE STARS champion HELIO CASTRONEVES has split from his fiancee ALIETTE VAZQUEZ after she broke off their engagement.
Racing driver Castroneves had been dating the business executive for more than six years, and proposed to her last year (06).
But on Wednesday (28Nov07), Vazquez revealed the couple had split - less than 24 hours after Castroneves was crowned king of the dancefloor (27Nov07).
Her representative, Howard Bragman, tells TMZ.com, "There have been a lot of rumours and a lot of misinformation out there.
"(She) wanted to set the record straight. This is a personal decision and I ask the media to respect the privacy of Miss Vazquez and her family. She has no plans to talk to the media, but reserves that right if she needs to clarify misinformation or defend her reputation."

STELLA McCARTNEY has been crowned Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in London.
The 36-year-old designer, who is pregnant with her third child, beat Anya Hindmarch and Luella Bartley to claim the coveted title at the British Fashion Council event on Wednesday (28Nov07).
Accepting the gong from actress Thandie Newton, she said, "This is such a brilliant award but the people who really deserve it are my team. If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t have been able to have three kids under the age of three.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG’s radio show has been axed in New York, after failing to attract enough listeners.
The city’s WKTU station began broadcasting Goldberg’s syndicated morning show in 2006 - but it has made little impact in the Big Apple, failing to make New York’s top 10 listened-to shows.
It was cancelled on Wednesday (28Nov07). The show will still appear elsewhere in the U.S. and Goldberg continues to reach New Yorkers as a panelist on top rating TV talk show The View.

Director JAMES IVORY has been honoured for his lifetime’s contribution to cinema.
The A Soldier’s Daughter Never Cries filmmaker was presented with the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF) Trophee des Arts Award by actress Uma Thurman at a New York ceremony on Tuesday (27Nov07).
The FIAF’s president Marie-Monique Steckel says, "With this Trophee des Arts, the French community in New York celebrates the most Parisian of all New York filmmakers and salutes the 50th anniversary of James Ivory’s first film." An exclusive preview of Ivory’s next movie, The City of Your Final Destination, starring Anthony Hopkins and French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg, was also screened during the star-studded gala.

Billy Carter of Mountain Springs Baptist Church in Livingston, Montana - near Quaid and wife Kimberly’s country retreat in the state - insists he and worshippers at the church are praying for the twins.
Carter says, "Our church did pray and will continue to pray for Mr Quaid and his family until the Lord heals the children." Meanwhile, a leading toxicology expert has offered hope the tiny pair will recover - telling OK magazine, "If there was no complication from the Heparin and no bleeding in any area, there should be no longterm effects.

Actress KELLY BROOK’s father has died after a long battle with cancer. He was 57.
The "devastated" Three star is currently performing on British TV talent show Strictly Come Dancing, but her future on the celebrity contest is in doubt following the passing of her dad Kenneth.
He finally succumbed to the disease on Monday (26Nov07) at the family home in Rochester, Kent, England.
A source tells British website thesun.co.uk, "Kelly, her mum Sandra and the rest of the family are devastated. But Kenneth was very ill for a long time.
"At the moment, Kelly is considering whether to perform on Saturday (01Dec07) night’s show." A spokesman for Brook - fiancee of Hollywood star Billy Zane - adds, "Kelly would like to thank the media for respecting her family’s privacy during recent weeks and asks that they continue to at this difficult time.
"Kelly will continue to honour her work commitments to the best of her abilities as her father would have wanted."

O.J. SIMPSON has pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnapping and armed robbery in relation to a sports memorabilia heist in Las Vegas in September (07).
The former American football star and his two accomplices, Clarence Stewart and Charles Ehrlich, pleaded their innocence at the start of their criminal trial at a U.S. court on Wednesday (28Nov07).
The Naked Gun star is alleged to have stormed into collector Alfred Beardsley’s hotel suite at the Palace Station in Las Vegas along with five associates, and removed memorabilia items Simpson maintains were stolen from a storage facility.
Three other co-defendants agreed to testify against Simpson as part of a plea agreement; Stewart, Ehrlich and the retired sports star all face life imprisonment if found guilty.
Beardsley and an associate claim guns were pulled during the stand-off, but the collector told the preliminary hearing earlier this month (Nov07) that Simpson wasn’t one of the men brandishing a weapon. Simpson was famously acquitted of criminal charges for the 1994 murders of Ron Goldman and ex-wife Nicole Brown.

Irish pop star RONAN KEATING agreed to a BOYZONE reunion because he wanted to apologise to his former bandmates for abandoning the group.
The 30-year-old enjoyed success in his own right after leaving the Love Me For A Reason hitmakers in 1999, but recently agreed to a comeback because he felt guilty about his pursuit of solo fame.
And Keating has not ruled out the possibility of recording new material with the group.
He says, "They’re older and I’m older, they understand I had to go and follow my dream. Now we thought let’s get together to see if we can be in the same room. None of us had met as a five-piece since we broke up in 2000, and it was like we’d never been apart.
"Half the reason I’m back is because I think I owe it to the guys and time is a great healer. We might enjoy each other’s company so much that we might start writing again as a band, and we might make an album together."

U.S. soul stars BOYZ II MEN have vowed to work until their death - because music is what they were "born" to do.
The group, who first formed in 1988, have managed to become the most commercially successful R&B outfit of all time, and made a comeback earlier this year (07) with their new release, Motown: A Journey Through Hitsville USA.
And despite the trio all being in their early 30s, they refuse to even contemplate the suggestion of quitting.

BRITNEY SPEARS’ recently-appointed chauffeur has quit - because the pop star is too much of a "liability" to drive around.
The unnamed man was hired to drive Spears, her kids and a court-ordered monitor around after the troubled mother-of-two was banned from driving her sons herself.
But he has reportedly resigned just days after his appointment due to the life-threatening pressures of ferrying the singer around.
According to TMZ.com, the chauffeur has endured a number of near-misses with paparazzi and other vehicles whilst driving the star, and feels unsafe in the job.
Spears was ordered to hire a driver by ex-husband Kevin Federline’s attorney earlier this month (Nov07), after her road skills were called into question.
The ban came after Spears was caught on tape running a red light with her two children in the back seat.
