FAT JOE TO BE HONOURED
American rapper FAT JOE will be honoured for raising the profile of a New York-based children’s charity at a gala on Thursday (29Nov07).
The hip-hop star - real name Joseph Antonio Cartagena - will be praised for his work with In Arms Reach Inc., a nonprofit group that helps the children of prisoners, at a ceremony at the City University of New York’s City College.
Cartagena says, "I’m proud to help bring awareness to this segment of youth, at a time when so many of our families in the minority community remain separated by the system."
