NFL STAR TAYLOR DIES AT 24
LATEST: American football star SEAN TAYLOR has died from a gunshot wound after he was attacked in his Miami, Florida home on Monday (26Nov07).
The Washington Redskins player, 24, had to be airlifted to a local hospital following the incident in the early hours of Monday morning, but his injuries were too severe and he died on Tuesday morning (27Nov07).
Taylor was shot in the upper leg, damaging an artery and causing severe blood loss and loss of consciousness.
His lawyer Richard Sharpstein claimed Taylor showed promising signs when he appeared to squeeze a nurse’s hand in hospital on Monday night, but failed to regain consciousness afterwards, according to TMZ.com.
Police in Miami-Dade have launched an investigation into the star’s death, and are looking into the possibility of the attack being a burglary gone wrong.
