The star - currently the scourge of striking writers for breaking the picket line to continue making her show - has only owned the four bedroom, six bathroom Spanish colonial home for a few years, having paid $16.9 million (£8.45 million) for it.

Director RIDLEY SCOTT’s AMERICAN GANGSTER has forced its way to the top of the U.K. box office - taking $5 million (£2.5 million) in its opening weekend (16-18Nov07).
The real-life crime drama - which stars Oscar winners Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe - crushed competition from animated fantasy Beowulf, which debuted in second place with $4.2 million (£2.1 million).
Ratatouille and Stardust are in third and fourth position respectively, while last week’s number one, comedy Good Luck Chuck, slips down to number five.

A secret HARRY POTTER book is set to go under the hammer for $100,000 (£50,000) at a special auction in London.
The Tales Of Beedle The Bard was produced as a farewell to the boy wizard by author J.K. Rowling, and proceeds of the sale will go to benefit The Children’s Voice campaign; a charity Rowling established to help vulnerable children.
The tome - handwritten and illustrated by Rowling - is being sold off at London auction house Sotheby’s on 13 December (07), but the almost unique volume will be available for fans to view from 9 December until the sale four days later.
Rowling produced seven copies of The Tales Of Beedle The Bard, all of which are different, but are each leather bound and decorated with silver ornaments and moonstones.
The book is a volume of five fairytales given to Potter character Hermione Granger by Albus Dumbledore in the final book of the series, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows. Only one of the tales appears in the widely-released book.

U.S. TV star BILL NYE has requested a restraining order against his former fiancee after she allegedly tried to poison him.
Nye, also known as ‘The Science Guy’, sought the order in a Los Angeles court on 4 September (07), after spotting his ex, Blair Tindal, dressed in black and acting suspiciously near his home. The order would prevent Tindal from coming near his California house and contacting him.
The legal papers filed state Tindal "emerged from my backyard… carrying two plastic bottles filled with some sort of solvent. Apparently she was trying to poison my plants including some vegetable(s). She fled on foot and then a car sped away from the scene." Tindal had driven by his house twice in the previous three weeks. Nye also complained in an abuse report that Tindal "left a coffee pot on my porch" on 16 August (07).
However, Tindal filed a response on 13 November (07), disagreeing with the terms of the restraining order.
A hearing has been set for 20 December (07).

The daughters of SLEUTH writer ANTHONY SHAFFER have criticised the remake of the 1970s movie of the same name - for failing to involve them in the new KENNETH BRANAGH adaptation.
The original film starred Michael Caine and Laurence Olivier, while the 2007 version sees Jude Law take the role of the younger gentleman with Caine portraying the part made famous by Olivier.
But Shaffer’s children Claudia, 43, and Cressida, 40, are devastated they did not have a say in the Branagh version - despite suggesting Law for the part in the remake.
And they are even more angered to have been snubbed altogether for the movie’s London debut at the weekend (18Nov07).
Claudia says, "My sister and I are distressed that we weren’t invited to the film premiere in London on Sunday. Cressida was particularly surprised because she was the one who suggested Jude Law for the part.
"Its very odd because we knew Michael Caine when we were children. We met Kenneth Branagh last Christmas and he promised he would let us know what was happening about the film. But we have heard nothing.
"It’s rather strange when you see huge posters on your way to the Tube (London Underground transport system). Sleuth has been a part of our lives for as long as I can remember. It’s very sad and depressing."

U.S. TV network HBO has ended its battle with a woman it accused of naming her business after hit series SEX AND THE CITY.
The cable giant threatened to oppose Jennifer Cassetta’s plans to trademark Health and the City for her New York martial arts school - but have allowed a deadline to pass, granting the 31-year-old victory.
Cassetta says, "Score one for the little guy. I felt like HBO didn’t realise what they were doing when they were attacking a small-business owner, and a woman business owner specifically. Because women are so strong."

The Christmas run of Broadway show THE GRINCH was doomed on Monday (19Nov07) when theatre bosses banned stagehands from ending their strike.
Stagehands across New York’s theatre district have been on strike since 10 November - crippling Broadway at its busiest time of the year.
Union chiefs gave picketing Grinch staff members permission to return to work, because the show - which is only due to run during the Christmas period is in danger of shutting down.
But Jujamcyn Theaters has vowed to stand up to the strikers with other theatre owners.
Jujamcyn boss Paul Libin says, "The Grinch will not re-open until the union signs agreements and ends the strike at all other theatres and all other shows that have been closed by their strikes." The move has left fans who have travelled to New York to see the show devastated - as well The Grinch’s nine-year-old star Athena Ripka. The actress - who plays Cindy Loo - told a press conference on Monday (19Nov07), "I totally want to go back to work. I like being on stage. I like to see people smile and clap and be happy. It’s always been my dream to be on Broadway." The Grinch producer James Sanna has vowed to take Jujamcyn to court to reopen the show - accusing the company of using the show as a "PR football". He tells the New York Post, "We are seeking an injunction. Kids all over the country want to see The Grinch."

Actor DENNIS QUAID’s newborn twins have been admitted to a Los Angeles hospital’s intensive care unit after they were accidentally given a drug overdose.
Quaid and his wife Kimberly welcomed Thomas Boone Quaid and Zoe Grace Quaid into the world on 8 November (07) - but the tots are now fighting for their lives at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Sources claim the babies were given 10,000 unit doses of anti-coagulant Heparin by mistake on Sunday morning (18Nov07) and again that evening newborns usually get just 10 units, according to website TMZ.com.
The twins - who were carried by an unidentified surrogate mother - began to "bleed out" on Sunday night and were taken to the hospital’s neo-natal intensive care unit, where their condition is now said to be stable.
The babies are 53-year-old Quaid’s second and third children - he already has a 17-year-old son with his ex-wife Meg Ryan.

Singer JOSH KELLEY can’t wait to marry his actress fiancee KATHERINE HEIGL - as long as he doesn’t have to mastermind the event.
The couple are due to wed on 23 December (07) in Utah, but the 27-year-old star insists he’s happy to stay out of the way and let his Grey’s Anatomy star wife-to-be arrange the whole ceremony.

Musician JOHN HUGHLEY has died. He was 73.
The steel guitarist, who made a name for himself playing for country stars Conway Twitty and Vince Gill, passed away in Nashville, Tennessee, on Sunday (18Nov07).
The Arkansas native worked with childhood friend Twitty for two decades until the late 1980s, before going on to play for Loretta Lynn and Gill. Most recently, he became a member of touring musicians the Time Jumpers.
He was inducted into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame in 1996 and his work continues to be featured in movies, TV series and commercials.
Details of his funeral have yet to be announced.

RADIOHEAD star THOM YORKE has ruled out further releases as a solo artist because he found the experience too "dull".
The singer launched a solo career last year (06) with his album The Eraser, but admits he is relieved to have the support of his bandmates for the release of the rockers’ latest album, In Rainbows.
But Yorke also confesses recording with Radiohead again was a bit of a shock to his system because he was used to being the one in control.
He says, "(Going solo) was kind of dull. It was deeply unsatisfying because you weren’t sharing much of the (recording) process but then I got back with the band and it was like, ‘Oh my god, there’s all these other people I have to work with now’."

LATEST: Former AMERICAN IDOL finalist JESSICA SIERRA has been sentenced to 12 months’ probation after pleading no contest to battery and drugs charges.
The 21-year-old, who made it to the final 10 in the 2005 series of the U.S.
reality show, was accused of hitting a man with a heavy glass at a cafe in Tampa, Florida, in April (07). She was also charged with possession of cocaine.
But Sierra escaped a jail term for the offences when she appeared in a Tampa court on Monday (19Nov07), and was instead put on one year’s probation. She will also be allowed to have the charge removed from her record once the probation period is up.
Sierra has been receiving treatment from a California rehabilitation clinic since July (07) as part of a VH1 reality show, and her attorney credits the TV opportunity for allowing the singer to clean up her lifestyle.
Lawyer John Fitzgibbons tells People.com, "She’s done very well. The TV show did offer her the opportunity to participate in a drug treatment programme and our feeling was, there was no downside to it.
"It’s an excellent programme, and she got help, and that can be very expensive in today’s world. So it’s kind of a win-win for her."

Rapper SAIGON has quit his fledgling career in hip-hop - because he is angry at the "fake" music industry.
The up-and-coming star has long been tipped for success by his peers, but the lyricist - real name Brian Carenard - has seen his debut album The Greatest Story Never Told pushed back numerous times since its original release date of 2005. It was finally due to be released by Atlantic Records in 2008.
But the 30-year-old rapper announced his retirement on Monday (19Nov07) with a post on his MySpace.com blog, slamming the nature of the hip-hop industry and the media.
And he confesses the only thing he is worried about is breaking the news to producer and mentor, Just Blaze.
Writing on the social networking site, he says: "I’ve realized now that so many people have gotten into hip-hop, whether the business aspect or otherwise, it’s not really for me anymore.
"F**k this bum ass rap game anyway. It’s full of fake ass n**gers who pump poison to the kids, make a few dollars and act like they’re larger then life when they know their music is detrimental to their f**king communities… This s**t is sickening… I’m done… SAIGON IS DEAD…
"Should I say I’ll slap a rapper, so (the media can) run and put it in all their news section and gossip columns? Okay, ‘I’ll slap the s**t outta EVERY Rapper.’ How’s that? I QUIT, now I gotta figure out how I’m gonna break this to Just Blaze…"

NINE INCH NAILS have been forced to scrap plans for an official website to showcase fans’ remixes of their songs, because the band’s record company refuse to have any involvement in the project.
Frontman Trent Reznor hoped to create a site where their devotees could listen to new tracks from the band’s forthcoming remix album - but his plans had to be halted as Universal Records are currently locked in a legal battle with video-sharing sites YouTube and MySpace for breach of copyright.
Universal, which owns the rights to Nine Inch Nails’ material, is suing Internet giants Google - owners of YouTube - and MySpace’s parent company News Corp, for allowing copyrighted videos and music to be uploaded onto their sites. The ongoing legal wrangling means Reznor has been banned from creating his own site to share songs with fans because it could prove to be detrimental to the case.
Nine Inch Nails’ new album includes remixes created by fans after the ‘master’ recordings were posted on their official website, and Reznor wanted to create a separate site to showcase supporters’ work and encourage them to post their own versions of their favourite tracks.
In a statement on the band’s website, he writes, "Their premise is that if any fan decides to remix one of my masters with material Universal doesn’t own - a ‘mash-up,’ a sample, whatever - and upload it to the site, they will be doing exactly what MySpace and YouTube are doing. If they were to do such a thing, everybody sues everybody and the world abruptly ends.
"I am profoundly perturbed with this stance as content owners continue to stifle all innovation in the face of the digital revolution. So we are challenged at the last second to find a way of bringing this idea to life without getting splashed by the urine as these media companies piss all over each other’s feet." The band’s last album, Year Zero, has been remixed track-by-track to create Y34RZ3R0R3MIX3D which was released in the U.S. on Tuesday (20Nov07).

Actor JUDE LAW credits cheating on ex-fiancee SIENNA MILLER with helping him to realise the error of his lothario ways.
The 34-year-old is wracked with guilt over his affair with his children’s nanny - but he has tried to learn from the mistake rather than regret it.
He says, "There’s no regret. You can’t regret. I mean, I’ve felt regret but I’ve also refused to allow regret to sow a seed and live in me because I don’t believe it.

KEVIN FEDERLINE is unconcerned over reports his ex-wife BRITNEY SPEARS has hired a private investigator to unearth secrets about his past.
Mark Vincent Kaplan, the star’s attorney, insists his client has nothing to worry about if the rumours are true - and warns Spears the investigation is a waste of her money.
He says, "I think that if that is what they need to do, or have to do, to have (a go) at it. I don’t think it will, in anyway, be a good expenditure of funds. But I can’t stop that from happening.
"I don’t think he (Federline) would be concerned about it, and I don’t think he has to change anything he is doing in order to address that." Kaplan, however, praised Spears’ decision to hire a chauffeur after she was banned from driving with her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, in the same car.
He adds, "Anything that puts the children in a car that reduces the risk… I am all for that. We are only concerned when she is driving the kids." But he refused to confirm or deny reports Spears will celebrate Thanksgiving with her sons. Gossip website TMZ.com reported on Monday (19Nov07) Spears would have access to the kids on Wednesday (21Nov07), with Federline having the boys on Thursday (22Nov07), the official day of the U.S. holiday.
Kaplan says, "I think that nobody wants to be celebrating the holidays without their kids. I’m sure that will be worked out in a way that makes sense for everybody."
