KING SELLS THE DARK TOWER FOR $19

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:54 am

Horror writer STEPHEN KING has sold the film rights to his epic seven-book THE DARK TOWER series for just $19 (GBP9.50).
The Carrie and Misery writer had a special attachment to the cult books and insisted the right filmmaker was more important that big bucks. After turning down several filmmakers, including longtime collaborator Frank Darabont, King optioned the project to Lost and Alias creator J.J. Abrams, who is currently directing the new Star Trek movie.
He tells MTV News, "This is not a thing I would have (given) to just anybody.
I’ve said no to everybody until recently, but based on his work, particularly Lost, which I think a lot of, I thought, `Yeah, these guys can do it.’"
