CELEBRITIES ATTEND REEVE FOUNDATION BENEFIT GALA
Stars including ROBIN WILLIAMS, PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN and MERYL STREEP turned out for the Christopher And Dana Reeve Foundation’s annual fundraiser in New York on Monday night (12Nov07).
Streep was honoured at the benefit, held at the Marriott Marquis hotel, with the Dana Reeve Hope Award, thanking her for supporting the Reeve family after Superman actor Christopher was paralysed in a horse-riding accident in the mid-90s.
Streep said, "I’m very honoured to be here and a little humbled." Elsewhere at the event, ABC News anchor Bob Woodruff and his wife Lee were presented with the Christopher Reeve Spirit Of Courage Award.
The Charity raises money to fund research and improve quality of life for those afflicted with spinal cord injuries.
Christopher Reeve died in 2004 and his wife Dana passed away from lung cancer two years later (06).
