CELINE DION is sick of the negative comments she has been getting about the length of her son RENE CHARLES’ hair.
The Canadian singer feels she cannot win because so many people dislike her six-year-old’s long locks, but others implore her not to shave it off.
Dion insists she’ll let her son decide when he wants to have his hair cut.
She says, "Some people shave the head of their children and people say, ‘Oh, isn’t that terrible.’ Well I don’t even cut my son’s hair and they say, ‘Oh my God, when is she gonna cut her son’s hair?’ Whatever I will do, I won’t please everyone.
"Rene Charles makes his own decisions most of the time. My son makes his own decisions about his hair.
"I’ve asked him about 25 times, if not five million, ‘Do you want mommy to open your face a little bit… Do you want me to trim a little bit?’ No. When he’s ready, I’ll cut it.
"Anyway, my husband (Rene Angelil) has no hair - so it balances out."

PARIS HILTON is throwing a baby shower for best pal and THE SIMPLE LIFE co-star NICOLE RICHIE in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday (18Nov07).
The venue is being kept a closely guarded secret, but invites suggest the party, which is being organised by wedding planner-to-the-stars Mindy Weiss, will start at 12.30pm.
Celebrity DJ Samantha Ronson will provide the music at the bash and the menu will include sushi, coconut shrimp, lobster, lemon-pepper chicken, fruit and cake, according to In Touch Weekly.
Richie and rocker boyfriend Madden are reportedly expecting a baby boy early in 2008.

Members of ANGELINA JOLIE’s adopted daughter’s lost family have come forward in an effort to reclaim the Ethiopian child who was close to death and riddled with disease when the actress rescued her from an orphanage.
Little Zahara Jolie-Pitt’s grandmother claims the AIDS orphan’s paperwork is not correct - insisting that her granddaughter’s mother is still alive.
The adoption papers, which have been obtained by American magazine In Touch Weekly, clearly state that Zahara has a grandmother and extended family alive in Africa - but no living parents.
But now the grandmother insists her daughter, Mentewab Dawit Lebiso, never died - and she’s Zahara’s mum.
The woman claiming to be the mother tells In Touch, "I want my daughter to come home to see where she is from.
"Her grandmother and I both tried very hard to raise her, and I want her to come home to regain her identity." And little Zahara’s aunt, Zinash Haile Yenero, is upset that Jolie didn’t make sure the child’s paperwork was correct before adopting her, and she’s angry the actress hasn’t brought her daughter back to her homeland.
She rants, "My mother was very sad. At one point she was even thinking of trying to find a way to bring her grandchild back, but she has no money, so she can’t." The new article is sure to upset Jolie and partner Brad Pitt, but friends insist the actress will stand firm.
On pal says, "She believes that Zahara is an orphan and the woman who claims to be her mom is mistaken." "Zahara was days away from death and Angelina saved that child. As far as she is concerned, that bonded her to that little girl forever."

PARIS HILTON’s teenage crush is threatening to go public with love letters the socialite wrote to him a decade ago.
James McCauley claims he spent time with Hilton at the Provo Canyon School in Orem, Utah in 1998 and states the heiress was madly in love with him and wrote him intimate letters.
McCauley, now 25, has offered the letters to American magazine Life & Style, saying, "I was stoked because she was attracted to me." In the letters, Hilton wrote that boys had no respect for her and that she needed therapy to overcome a series of childhood demons.
McCauley adds, "She reached out to me and asked my advice on how to cope with being in such a regimented place. There was a lot of attraction. We both felt it… She thought I was cute."

RAY star KERRY WASHINGTON is dating COMMON after playing his love interest in a new video.
Washington, who ended her engagement to actor David Moscow six months ago, and Common, real name Lonnie Rashid Lynn Jr., bonded on the set of the promo for the laid back rapper’s I Want You, which she also co-directed.

U.S. soap star HUNTER TYLO has spoken of her pain after her teenage son died in a drowning accident last month (Oct07).
The Bold & The Beautiful actress was left devastated when Michael Tylo Jr.
was found floating in a swimming pool on 18 October.
And Tylo insists nothing could have prepared her the death of a child.
She says, "I thought the worst thing in life was having a sick child. But, there’s really nothing more painful than losing a child." During an interview with U.S. TV host Larry King, Tylo recalled the moment she was told Michael had died.
She says, "My oldest son Chris called and said, ‘Mom, are you sitting down?’ And there’s this hot rush of blood that envelops your face and your chest and you begin to know that there’s something terribly wrong." But Tylo is determined to return to The Bold & The Beautiful to commemorate her late son.
She adds, "I use my pain to work. I don’t think Mike would want me to not be acting."

Former LAW & ORDER star ELISABETH ROHM is pregnant with a baby girl she plans to call EASTON.
The actress realised she was expecting shortly after fiance Ron Wooster, an entrepreneur, asked her to marry him this summer (07).
She recalls, "I went to the doctor, and they tested me and said ‘You are pregnant’ - and of course I screamed because it’s a miracle for anyone." The 34-year-old tells America’s Life & Style magazine, "I am so excited. I feel great. I’ve been sleeping 10 hours a day and eating truckloads of food on a daily basis. I’m eating fruit and yoghurt and granola and great vegetables." Rohm is due on 28 April (08) - and already has her baby’s name sorted.
But the happy news means wedding plans are off for the time being: "We postponed the wedding because it’s really less important than having a great pregnancy, and weddings can be stressful." Rohm tells the publication that she and Wooster will now wed in The Hamptons, New York next September (08).

Actress/singer MANDY MOORE and former FRIENDS star MATTHEW PERRY have fuelled speculation they’re an item after they were seen kissing and cuddling at a restaurant.

An onlooker tells the New York Daily News, "They were holding hands across the table and being really close and laughing a lot the whole time." O.J. SIMPSON’s defence team has asked the judge in the star’s armed robbery case to dismiss charges of kidnapping as the preliminary hearing ends in Las Vegas.
Before the four-day preliminary hearing went into recess on Wednesday lunchtime (14Nov07), Simpson’s lawyers asked Judge Joseph Bonaventure to consider dismissing the case altogether, insisting there isn’t enough solid evidence against their client to suggest a full trial is necessary.
As the closing arguments ended at Clark County Justice Center, Judge Bonaventure announced he would rule on a possible trial, and the counts involved, later in the day.
During Wednesday’s morning’s hearing, Alfred Beardsley, the victim of the alleged armed robbery told the court he was "100 per cent positive" Simpson wasn’t carrying a weapon when he stormed into his hotel room in September (07).

LATEST: Rockers LOS LOBOS are helping to replace their old high school’s fire-damaged roof after handing over a cheque for $195,000 (£97,500).
The La Bamba band features graduates from Garfield High, and the group stepped into action when they heard the roof of the Los Angeles school’s new sports auditorium had been destroyed by fire in May (07).
The Latino hitmakers raised the money for the new roof by staging a benefit concert at Los Angeles’ Universal Amphitheatre on 14 October (07).

Guitarist SLASH once shocked DAVID BOWIE with stories about his narcotic-induced hallucinations.
The former Guns N’ Roses star was addicted to heroin and cocaine and his mother thought it would be a good idea if the troubled star talked to her friend and former drug addict, Bowie, about his problems.
But Bowie wasn’t prepared for Slash’s confession, especially when the rocker revealed he saw armies of creatures "gathering in the doorway… holding tiny machine guns and weapons" while high.
In his new autobiography, Slash, the rocker recalls, "David was engaging and wise in the ways of chemical abuse. He asked me about what I was doing drug-wise and what I was going through emotionally, psychically, and with the band.
"I rambled on for a while, but once I started talking about my little translucent friends, David interrupted me… He’d heard enough."

Several of RAY CHARLES’ children are upset with a new stage musical they insist portrays the late soul legend in a negative light.
The singer’s successors believe Ray Charles Live!, which opened at the Pasadena Playhouse in California last week (ends09Nov07), focuses too much on their late father’s infidelities, and not on his musical success.
Charles’ children claim nobody involved with the production consulted them about the production, and they have sent a letter airing their grievances to the theatre.
Their lawyer, Mary Anne Den Bok, says, "Everybody is pretty outraged. Ray Charles was a genius in many ways, not just musically, and this is just an attempt to exploit him. It does Ray Charles a great disservice, and does not capture any aspect of his real life.
"If we had our way, the producers would do a complete rewrite." Den Bok confirms the Charles family is "reviewing its legal options" about controlling the singer’s name and image, but "not necessarily in relation to the play".
Pasadena Playhouse artistic director Sheldon Epps responds: "I would simply say that… all involved, including the company and myself, did a great deal of research into Ray’s life. It is certainly our attempt to present a loving and respectful tribute to Mr. Charles." Charles died in 2004 aged 73. His life was portrayed by Jamie Foxx, who won a Best Actor Oscar for Ray.

Country star LYLE LOVETT was in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday (13Nov07) to urge U.S. lawmakers to pass legislation requiring radio stations to pay royalties to performers when they play their music.
Lovett and singer/songwriter Alice Peacock asked a Senate Judiciary Committee to pass a law making it necessary to financially reward musicians, and not just songwriters, each time a song is played on AM and FM radio.
As part of her testimony, Peacock performed a segment of her song Bliss.
Lovett said, "This issue is not about me. It’s about the thousands of performers across the country who work so hard to earn livings that are so modest in relation to their talent.
"Those are people who are usually not credited as writers of a song, but are extremely influential in bringing a song to life and are very much a part of the creative process." Internet, cable and satellite radio stations already pay musicians as well as songwriters each time a track is played.

Rap icon JAY-Z has tied ELVIS PRESLEY on the U.S. album charts after claiming his 10th number one.
The rapper’s new release, American Gangster, debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 countdown with opening week sales of 425,000.
The feat ties Presley in second place for the most number one albums on the chart; only The Beatles have had more, with 19.
The thrilled rapper says, "I’ve got this Elvis thing going on right here, but what’s great about that is that I’ve never had a number one single on any of my albums. People buy them for the body of work." "I don’t agree with her going out if she wanted to keep her boys. If she’s told to her act together then the next thing she does is go out on the town, then that’s stupid.
"She shouldn’t have done that. But people get caught up in that lifestyle where they throw themselves into a bar and club scene because they’re very frustrated with their lives.
"I think she’s become entwined in that kind of lifestyle and it’s become a routine, a habit."
