BEE MOVIE CREATES A BUZZ AT U.S. BOX-OFFICE
Animated comedy BEE MOVIE has executed a sting on mob movie AMERICAN GANGSTER by claiming the top spot at the American box-office over the weekend (09-11Nov07).
The Jerry Seinfeld film climbed a place with takings of $26 million (£13 million) in its second weekend on release, narrowly beating the Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe-starring American Gangster, which made $24.3 million (£12.1 million).
At three is new entry Fred Claus with $19.2 million (£9.6 million), while Tom Cruise’s Lions For Lambs proved a disappointment, debuting at four with just $6.7 million (£3.3 million).
