Rapper KANYE WEST is in mourning after his mother DR. DONDA WEST suddenly passed away in Los Angeles on Sunday (11Nov07).
The 30-year-old was in London when he heard the tragic news and immediately ditched his commitments to catch a plane back to the U.S., according to reports.
The cause of death was unknown as WENN went to press.
Kanye West has often spoken of the close relationship he shared with his mother, and he dedicated a song, Hey Mama, to her on his 2005 sophomore album Late Registration.

KID ROCK is terrified he is being spied upon by stalkers - after discovering hidden cameras in his dressing room.
The rap/rocker claims on his website that his security man found a hidden camera in his backstage changing facility at Myth nightclub in Minneapolis, U.S. after playing a gig there. He tells website TMZ.com his man "discovered the device before the show and alerted the authorities, who are now investigating." Rock’s head of security Little Bear confirmed recording equipment had been found and believes spies had wanted to broadcast him on the Internet.

Troubled AMY WINEHOUSE broke down in tears as her husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL was led to the cells in handcuffs after a judge refused him bail.
The Back To Black singer, 25, sobbed uncontrollably and mouthed ‘I love you’, blowing kisses at her husband as he was remanded at London’s Thames Magistrates Court on Saturday (10Nov07) until 23 November.
Outside the court, she told reporters, "I can’t believe this is happening. I will stand by my man." Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty, who has appeared in court himself several times, was also in the public gallery to support the couple after dropping off some emergency clothes for Fielder-Civil at the police station.
Fielder-Civil, 25, was arrested on Thursday (08Nov07) at a flat in East London on suspicion of attempted to pervert the course of justice.
He and Anthony Kelly, 25, are accused of offering James King - a barman who Fielder-Civil allegedly assaulted last year - $400,000 (£200,000) and a free holiday to miss the trial which was due to start tomorrow (12Nov07).

Rocker MICK JAGGER and his girlfriend L’WREN SCOTT have lost a battle with their neighbours over the redevelopment of their Grade II listed 17th century mansion.
The Rolling Stone planned to chop down four magnolia trees at the $20 million (£10 million) estate to make way for a subterranean 28 foot by 12 foot swimming pool.
But the proposals infuriated the neighbours of the property in Chelsea, West London who bombarded the council with letters of protest and a petition and Jagger has been forced to relocate the pool to another site in the garden.
Jagger hired a team of designers and architects to make the down-at-heel property suitable for a millionaire rock star complete with His and Her dressing rooms, a massive wine cellar and spacious staff accommodation.

Actor JUDE LAW has thanked a British newspaper for exposing him as a lying, cheating love rat - because it helped him realise his mistakes and change his ways.
The 34-year-old Alfie star, who was caught indulging in group sex while married to actress/designer Sadie Frost, and later exposed cheating on fiancee Sienna Miller with his children’s nanny, says he is "happy" to have been exposed on such a public level.
Law says, "I’m not happy I hurt people, but I’m kind of happy it was on such a public level. "In a way it was like washing your laundry in public and, yep, there you go, you’ve seen my underwear, you’ve seen all my rubbish, you’ve seen me putting out the trash. And now I feel like there’s nothing left, you’ve seen it all and I can get on. "In a weird way, that’s kind of wonderful. "I was an idiot. I behaved badly. I made mistakes. Who hasn’t? "It all came out and I took it on the chin. I also like to think of that because of the scale on which I had to admit to them, I learnt my lesson."

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY’s estranged wife HEATHER MILLS has appointed eccentric ’self-styled French aristocrat’ MICHELE ELYZABETH as her official worldwide spokesperson.
Elyzabeth, who calls herself a ‘comtesse’, took the job last week (ends 09Nov07) after model and campaigner Mills parted company from her British PR and lawyers Mishcon de Reya, according to a British report.
The former Los Angeles beauty parlour owner, who sells her own brand of champagne and caviar facials at her Sunset Boulevard salons, disappeared from view as U.S. spokesman after she wrongly claimed on American television show Extra that Heather had received a court order granting full custody of daughter Beatrice.
But she remains close friends with the former wife of Sir Paul McCartney and will be her official spokesperson despite her television blunder which caused her to be lampooned on video website YouTube and the comedy show The Soup.
She tells British newspaper the Mail On Sunday, "I have immense respect for Heather and her work.
"She is sick, sick, sick of all the negative publicity. I am on my way to dinner now and have to go."

BRITNEY SPEARS is so furious with her mother for writing a book about her, the troubled pop star looks set to publish her own side of the story.
Mum Lynne, 52, has signed a $1 million (£500,000) deal to write a book on parenting but the pop princess plans to publish her own tell-all memoir at the same time.
Spears is reported to have told a pal, "She is trying to make a quick buck.
She says she’s not sure if she’ll go through with it - but I can’t really trust her."

PRINCE HARRY has been spotted drowning his sorrows after splitting with his girlfriend of three years CHELSY DAVY.
The British royal hit upmarket West London nightspot Amika on Friday (9Nov07) just hours after breaking up with his 22-year-old Zimbabwean girlfriend. According to reports he was in no mood for sobre contemplation, racking up a bill of $4,000 (£2,000) on champagne and vodka with friends.
A source in the club tells British newspaper the Sunday Mirror, "They wasted no time getting stuck in, pouring tumblers full of vodka and handing out champagne to party-goers.
"One stunning brunette came over to talk to Harry at about midnight and they chatted for a while. Lots of girls came over to dance round his table, but he was not interested in talking to anyone he didn’t know." The royal party reportedly downed 30 shots of vodka and started on the champagne at 1am before Harry was led out swaying at 2am.
Chelsy and Harry’s split comes months after his older brother William split with his long-term girlfriend Kate Middleton, though the couple have since reportedly rekindled their romance.

Actress SARA RUE of U.S. TV series LESS THAN PERFECT has filed for divorce from her husband of more than four years, MISCHA LIVINGSTONE. The pair, who were married in 2001, initially separated in May 2006. Rue is citing irreconcilable differences, according to the papers filed on 21 September in Los Angeles Superior Court. They have no children. Rue, 29, has most recently appeared in guest spots on TV comedy Two And A Half Men.

Broadway has been thrown into turmoil with more than 20 hit plays and musicals including THE LION KING and MAMMA MIA forced to close because of strikes by disgruntled stagehands.
The protestors, who are responsible for moving scenery and equipment, set up picket-lines in front of theatres in New York on Saturday (10Nov07).
The strike comes after three months of negotiations between producers and a union about pay and working conditions failed to produce an agreement. No new talks are scheduled and it is unclear how long the strike will last.
All but eight Broadway shows have been shut down and producers say they plan to pay refunds to people who have bought tickets for cancelled shows. It comes at a time that is traditionally one of Broadway’s busiest of the year.
New York mayor Michael Bloomberg warned on the economic consequences of the action. He says, "While this is a private labour matter, the economic impact is very public and will be felt far beyond the theatres closed today." The Broadway strike comes in the wake of a separate screenwriters’ strike which began in Hollywood last week (ends09Nov07), prompted by a disagreement over royalty payments.

U.S. TV presenter ELISABETH HASSELBECK has given birth to a baby boy.
The 30-year-old View co-host celebrated the birth of her son with American football star husband Tim on Friday (09Nov07) morning at an Arizona hospital. NFL quarterback Tim says, "We’re thrilled he arrived safely. Both mom and son are happy and healthy." The couple - who already have a two-year-old daughter, Grace - moved to Arizona in October (07), after Tim, 29, signed a contract with the Arizona Cardinals. Elisabeth plans to return to the ABC morning talk show later next year (08).

Supporters of comedienne ELLEN DEGENERES have defended her decision to cross the striking Hollywood picket line last Tuesday (06Nov07).
The lesbian TV star came under fire for not joining protestors like chatshow hosts Dave Letterman or Jay Leno in order to film her series, Ellen: The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Her representative defended her actions on the grounds that she is the host of a syndicated show, not a network-owned programme.
A friend says, "Unlike Letterman or Leno, those shows continue to deliver new episodes. But the difference is, they never employed Writers Guild members DeGeneres did. " A representative for DeGeneres says, "Ellen has a contract (to provide the show) as a host and a producer. "Ellen is competing with other first-run syndicated shows that are delivering original programming like ‘Dr. Phil,’ ‘Regis and Kelly’ and ‘Oprah’ during the competitive November sweeps period." But the Writers Guild East slammed DeGeneres for her actions, releasing a statement that reads, "Ellen’s peers who host comedy/variety shows have chosen to support the writers and help them get a fair contract, Ellen has not. Ellen said she loves and supports her writers, but her actions prove otherwise . . .
We find it sad that Ellen spent an entire week crying and fighting for a dog that she gave away, yet she couldn’t even stand by writers for more than one day."

Pulitzer Prize-winning author NORMAN MAILER has died of renal failure, aged 84.
The legendary writer passed away on Saturday (10Nov07) at a hospital in his native New York.
The father of nine - married six times - shot to international fame in 1948 with his Second World War classic The Naked And The Dead. He followed it up with a string of controversial best-sellers such as a biography of Marilyn Monroe and the Executioner’s Song about a prisoner on death row. Several of his novels became Hollywood films, including An American Dream starring Psycho beauty Janet Leigh. His latest work, The Castle in the Forest, was published this year (07).
Last month (Oct07) he had surgery to remove scar tissue from around his lung.
Gina Centrello, president of Mailer’s publisher, Random House, says he was "more than… one of the greatest writers of our time". She adds, "He was a consummate professional, who stimulated us with his passion and ideas and charmed us with his wit and warmth."

Actress LIZA MINNELLI has vowed never to tie the knot again - but she wouldn’t say no to having a lover.
The four-times married star, 61, who had a bitter split with David Gest after just four months, vowed that she would never walk down the aisle again.
She says, "I’m never going to have another husband again. If I do I want you to hit me over the head with a shovel, kidnap me and take me to Scotland.
"I’m not saying I’ll never have lovers… I’m just saying I’m not getting married." But the feisty songstress is keen to have a Scottish lover, even chatting up Sunday Mail reporter Billy Sloan.

Rocker COURTNEY LOVE has backed out of buying KATE MOSS’ London property because it is too much of a mess.
The Hole singer said the British supermodel’s three-bedroom North London home was not worth the $7 million (£3.5 million) price tag after finding sockets hanging out of the wall, scratches on the wooden floor and "depressing" pink and magnolia walls.
A friend of Love says, "She had a viewing and wasn’t convinced, but Kate persuaded her to take a second look.
"That’s when Courtney noticed the house was in a state - with scratched floors and old-looking plug sockets. She said she would need to clean it up.
"There was a painting of Sid Vicious in the bathroom, which Kate said was valuable, and she offered to throw it in. But Courtney said she couldn’t bathe with Sid hanging over her. She told Kate the house wasn’t worth $7 million (£3.5 million) because of the redecorating."
