POTTER BOOKS ‘U.K’S MOST RE-READ’

The HARRY POTTER novels have topped a poll of the U.K’s most re-read books.
Author J.K
. Rowling’s hit series - which spawned the award-winning movie series starring Daniel Radcliffe as the boy wizard - beat JRR Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings and Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, which made it into second and third place respectively.
The survey of more than 2,000 people, conducted to mark the 2007 Costa Book Awards, found 77 per cent of U.K
. readers re-read books
. Other top 20 re-visited reads include Tolkien’s The Hobbit, Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre, Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code and the Bible
. All the tomes featured have been adapted onto the big screen in one way or another.
The top 10 is as follows:
1. The Harry Potter series - J.K
. Rowling
2. The Lord of the Rings - JRR Tolkien
3. Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
4. The Hobbit - JRR Tolkien
5. Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte
6. 1984 - George Orwell

9. Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte
