GROHL: ‘BROKE NIRVANA WERE FORCED TO SELL EQUIPMENT FOR FOOD’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:18 pm

Grunge band NIRVANA were once so broke, they had to sell their music equipment to buy food, according to the group’s former drummer DAVE GROHL.
The Foo Fighters frontman - who was one of the original members of the legendary rockers - recalls his time in the group before Nirvana shot to fame in the 1990s - and admits they were more worried about where their next meal would come from than having hit songs.
He says, "When I think of Nirvana, I think of Krist, Kurt and me. I think about us driving through Canadian snowstorms in a van leaking fuel. We reek like guys working in a gas station. I think about us selling equipment for food. I don’t think about number one records." Nirvana disbanded in 1994 when frontman Kurt Cobain committed suicide.
