SPRINGSTEEN SELLS OFF HIS HARLEY DAVISON BIKE
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN sold off his 1991 Harley Davison motorbike at an auction on Wednesday (07Nov07) to raise funds for a wounded soldiers charity.
The rocker was the musical guest at the Bob Woodruff Fund gala in New York, and after performing three songs for the audience, he wheeled out his bike with the help of a troupe of stagehands.
Springsteen told the crowd he was prohibited from turning the bike’s engine on, but refused to play by the rules, revving the motor from the stage.
The bike went under the hammer for $85,000 (£42,500).
