O.J. SIMPSON ROBBERY VICTIM CONSIDERS MOVIE DEAL
LATEST: One of the two sports memorabilia dealers accusing O.J. SIMPSON of armed robbery stunned a Las Vegas court on Thursday (08Nov07) when he revealed he’s considering a TV movie deal surrounding the events of the September (07) hotel raid.
Bruce Fromong was the first person to testify against Simpson as the preliminary hearing into the case got underway.
After revealing the details of the incident, in which he claimed he was held at gunpoint by one of Simpson’s associates, and had his new cell phone confiscated by the former American football star, Fromong told the court he was considering helping TV networks turn the raid into a movie.
The dealer, a semi-retired California Department Of Corruptions officer, admitted he is in negotiations to sell the rights to his story - but he refused to name names.
Fromong told the court he wants Jack Nicholson to play him in the potential movie.
He said, "(I’ve) talked to people from… (TV networks) ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox; people have asked me." Fromong also revealed his memory of the raid is hazy because he was under the influence of painkiller Oxycontin when it took place.
During a break in proceedings, Simpson spoke briefly to TV reporter Michael Okwu, and revealed he’s quietly confident about the early stages of the hearing.
He said, "This is their (lawyers) day, but my day will come."
