BATMAN PRODUCERS UPSET ENVIRONMENTALISTS OVER LIGHT SHOW
The producers of BATMAN BEGINS sequel THE DARK KNIGHT have been blasted by environmentalists in Hong Kong after asking commercial tenants living along a city waterfront to leave their lights on overnight.
Director Christopher Nolan wanted a night shoot to shimmer with the lights of industry and so producers sent letters to companies in the area, asking them not to go dark for a series of night shoots.
But the letters have upset green bosses in the city, who are desperately trying to save energy.
A spokesperson for city conservation group Green Sense says, "They are asking us to turn on so many lights, wasting so much energy." Green Sense bosses are asking producers to consider adding the light effect digitally in post-production.
