WALKER PLEDGES $25,000 GIFT TO MS FUND
Country music star CLAY WALKER is donating $25,000 (£12,500) for research toward a cure for multiple sclerosis - and will continue to do so for the next three years.
Walker, who was diagnosed with the disease in 1996, is passionate about helping other sufferers after he himself responded so well to treatment.
He says, "It is important for me to give back now because I have been so blessed.
"There are a lot of people out there who aren’t doing so well with multiple sclerosis, and we want to be their ray of hope." The artist announced his plans to donate money through his foundation Band Against Multiple Sclerosis on Tuesday (06Nov07) at the Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
