Pop star MELANIE BROWN’s double duty as a U.S. reality TV dancing star and a SPICE GIRL is paying off - she scored top marks for her rumba on Monday night’s (29Oct07) DANCING WITH THE STARS.
The Wannabe singer and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy overcame illness and flights to and from Britain, where Mel B is rehearsing for the upcoming Spice Girls reunion tour, to land a perfect score on the show.
Brown and Chmerkovskiy ended up in the bottom two earlier this month (Oct07), but now the pair is back among the favourites to land the prize after receiving 10 out of 10s from all three judges on the show.
It looks like actress Jane Seymour’s dancing days are numbers, however - she and partner Tony Dovolani were handed the lowest score of the night, 22 out of 30.
The former Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman is hoping fans want to "see more of Seymour" in the competition after pleading with them to vote for her and keep her on the show.
If she is voted off the show on Tuesday night (30Oct07), it will be a triple blow for the actress, who lost her mother last month (Sep07) and then had to evacuate her Malibu, California home for four days due to last week’s (26Oct07) wildfires.

Divorced couple DENISE RICHARDS and CHARLIE SHEEN have ended their public custody feud after agreeing to put their young daughters into therapy.
The former couple have spent months fighting over custody arrangements for daughters Sam, three, and Lola, two, but have now resolved all matters during a six-hour mediation on 23 October (07).
An insider tells Life & Style magazine that Richards will continue to provide a nanny for her ex’s monitored visits with the girls, while Sheen has agreed to allow his former wife to take them to therapy sessions.
The source claims the actress is worried about the impact of the divorce and her mother’s ongoing cancer battle on the girls.
The insider tells the publication, "This was a big victory for Denise… She said all she wanted was what’s best for the girls. And Charlie was pleased about settling things." Richards’ publicist was unavailable for comment when WENN to press.

Friends and family of the teenager killed in PRISON BREAK star LANE GARRISON’s pre-Christmas car crash in 2006 have handed a petition to a judge asking that the actor is handed the maximum sentence for vehicular manslaughter.
Vahagn Setian was a passenger in Garrison’s Land Rover when the actor lost control of the vehicle and crashed after leaving a party
. The 17-year-old was later pronounced dead in hospital.
Garrison pleaded guilty to charges of vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence, driving under the influence and providing alcohol to a minor in August (07), and is due to be sentenced on Wednesday (31Oct07).
On Tuesday (30Oct07), Setian’s friends and family presented a petition featuring 3,600 signatures to a judge in Beverly Hills, California, demanding Garrison serve the maximum sentence of six years and eight months for his crimes.
Setian’s friend, a student called Alex, read a statement outside the court: "To do anything else sends a terrible message to young people, the community and others who drink and drive."

The inquest into the death of ANNA NICOLE SMITH’s son DANIEL has been postponed because a tropical storm is approaching the Bahamas.
The hearing was due to have begun in Nassau on Tuesday (30Oct07), but has now been rescheduled for 19 November (07) over fears Tropical Storm Noel could wreak havoc in the Caribbean.
Daniel Smith died in September, 2006. The 20-year-old was found to have a number of drugs in his bloodstream by a private autopsy - but an official inquest into the cause of his death has been delayed by Bahamas authorities.
As previously reported, Bahamas Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez has revealed he expects more than 35 witnesses to give evidence, including Anna Nicole Smith’s former companion and lawyer Howard K. Stern.

Pregnant HALLE BERRY is winning her battle with diabetes, thanks to a healthy diet and good living.
The actress was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes after she passed out while shooting a TV show called Living Dolls when she first arrived in Hollywood.
But the disease has now dropped to Type 2 diabetes because Berry is no longer "insulin dependent".
She says, "I’ve managed to ween myself off insulin, so now I like to put myself in the Type 2 category."

LATEST: Hollywood star RUSSELL CROWE is convinced his infant son will grow up to be an actor, after the three-year-old brought a recent press junket to a halt by telling jokes and performing magic tricks.
Crowe was promoting American Gangster with co-star Denzel Washington when young Charlie decided to commandeer the microphone.
And the Australian tough guy found himself unable to stop his mini-me from taking centre stage.
He says, "I was doing a press conference… and I had Charlie with me. He wanted to come in with me to… the radio press conference, so I thought, ‘That’ll be all right. I’ll just bring him in there, and sit him on my knee.’ "There’s four microphones in there, two facing Denzel and two facing me. I’ve got Charlie on my lap and the very first thing he does is lean over and twist one of the microphones over to him. So I twisted it back and he gave me a look like, ‘Buddy!’ So he twists it back and I said, ‘Look, we’ve talked about this.
You can’t be noisy and stuff, it’s an interview.’ "He says, ‘Daddy, I would like to tell a joke.’ And then he proceeded, in front of these 30 journalists, to tell his favourite joke at the moment, which is: ‘How do you stop a baby from crawling? You pull off its arms and legs.’ "He went through a couple more jokes and stuff and I said, ‘We’ve actually got to get on with the interview, so why don’t you just sit there quietly.’ And he’s a very honest kid and he said, ‘Dad, I would rather do my tricks and make lots of noise.’ (I said), ‘OK, You go in the corridor for a minute then.’"

THE POLICE frontman STING is breathing a sigh of relief after his home in Malibu, California narrowly escaped the wildfires that ravaged the region last week (ends26Oct07).
The Message In A Bottle singer wanted to spend a few days at his beachfront house last week, but the flames were so close he booked into a hotel instead.
Sting says, "They diverted me to a hotel. The house two doors down was burned and a lot of people have lost everything. I feel terrible for them.
"It was pretty smoky down there this week." No celebrities lost their homes in the fires, but stars like Jane Seymour, Kelsey Grammar and director James Cameron were among those evacuated.

LINDSAY LOHAN has pulled the plug on a Las Vegas New Year’s Eve (31Dec07) party - because she no longer wants to appear to be a party girl.
The actress will instead ring in 2008 at home with her family.
Lohan was booked as the guest of honour at the 2007/2008 bash at LAX nightclub at the Luxor hotel, but her publicist reveals, "She is currently, focusing on her work and sobriety." It’s the second time this year (07) Lohan has pulled out of a major Las Vegas event, planned around her.
She was booked to celebrate her 21st birthday at LAX’s sister club PURE in July (07), but scrapped that in favour of a family party in Malibu, California.
She was also attending rehab facility Promises at the time.

A fight between battling Baldwin brothers BILLY and DANIEL ended badly - when their mother accidentally had two teeth knocked out.
Backdraft star Billy admits the hot-headed pair’s arguments sometimes went too far when they were younger.
He says, "We were going at it in the kitchen and my mother was making some food. My brother Daniel, he grabbed me by my hair and started slamming my head into the (oven) flame.
"My mother got caught in the fracas and she caught one (thump), and her bridge and a couple of her teeth got knocked out.
"She didn’t really get hit with a punch; Daniel wouldn’t let go of my hair and I was getting too close to the flames, so my mother bit his hand and bit him so hard it started to break his skin, so he pulled his hand away and her bridge went flying and a couple of her teeth got pulled out with it." Billy admits wildchild Daniel made sure his childhood was a painful one: "I had three concussions and a fractured skull by the time I was eight, just from Daniel."

LATEST: A judge has cleared U.S. comedian TRACY MORGAN of wrongdoing after he removed his alcohol monitoring ankle bracelet for medical reasons last week (ends26Oct07).
The former Saturday Night Live regular was ordered to wear the band - known as a SCRAM bracelet - in May (07), after pleading guilty to driving under the influence in New York last year (06), an offence which violated his probation from a previous DUI arrest in Los Angeles in December 2005.
A hearing at Los Angeles County Court last week (ends26Oct07) heard that Morgan was unable to continue wearing the bracelet because of an undisclosed medical condition, according to TMZ.com.
And on Tuesday (27Oct07) a judge agreed Morgan no longer has to wear the monitoring device after studying photos of the funnyman’s medical problem. The judge also ruled the comedian has now completed his probation for drink-driving.

Comedian JERRY SEINFELD has defended his celebrity chef wife JESSICA from allegations she stole recipes from another high-profile cook, calling her accuser a "wacko".
Jessica Seinfeld’s new Deceptively Delicious cookery book, about hiding healthy ingredients in foods children will eat, is already a U.S. bestseller.
But the mother-of-three, 36, is facing accusations her recipes are suspiciously similar to those of chef and baby-products mogul Missy Chase Lapine.
Lapine’s book, The Sneaky Chef: Simple Strategies For Hiding Healthy Foods In Kids’ Favorite Meals, came out in April (07).
But Jerry Seinfeld insists false accusations are part of being in the public eye.
In a comic rant on America’s The Late Show on Monday (29Oct07), Seinfeld stated, "One of the fun facts of celebrity life is that wackos will wait in the woodwork to pop out at certain moments to inject a little adrenaline.
"If you’re any good as a woodwork wacko, you’re patient. You pick your moment and then you spring out and go wacko.
"There’s another woman who had another cookbook, and it was a similar kind of thing. My wife never saw the book, read the book, never used the book. But the books came out at the same time.
"So this woman says, ‘I sense this could be wacko moment,’ so she comes out and accuses my wife.

FRANK CALLARI, the svengali behind the careers of RYAN ADAMS, THE MAVERICKS and LUCINDA WILLIAMS, has died. He was 55.
The former hotel manager and self-employed club DJ, who passed away from natural causes, began his career as a music boss when he agreed to manage The Mavericks in the late 1980s.
Moving to Nashville, Tennessee, Callari co-founded Lost Highway records in 2001, and signed Williams, Adams and Shelby Lynne, among others.

Sixties pop star DONOVAN is planning to open his own university where students can learn all about transcendental meditation.
The Atlantis singer has dreams of launching the Invincible Donovan University in Edinburgh, Scotland - 40 years after he first conceived of the idea during a trip to India to study eastern mysticism with The Beatles.
Donovan says, "I know it sounds like an airy-fairy hippie dream to go on about ’60s peace and love. But the world is ready for this now; it is clear this is the time.
"The (spiritual leader) Maharishi told me during that 1968 visit that I should build a university in Edinburgh. I went to my room and drew a beautiful dome-shaped place of learning." Last week (ends25Oct07), film director David Lynch announced he has teamed up with Donovan to launch a campaign to teach London children to meditate in classrooms.

JON BON JOVI worked as a drug dealer to make cash in the days before he became a rock star.
The Livin’ On A Prayer singer has revealed he bought and sold drugs in a bid to make "a couple (of) bucks" when he was a struggling teenage wannabe on the mean streets of his native New Jersey.
He tells America’s Best Life magazine, "I did the drug thing very young and wised up very young too, because I was into drugs a little too much.
"I was entrepreneurial even then, buying quarter pounds of dope and trying to make a couple (of) bucks." Bon Jovi admits he was smart enough not to sample his own product - after one test trip left him suffering throughout a whole summer.
He adds, "Did you ever smoke dope that was laced with PCP and then have that whole summer of hallucinations? It was f**king awful.
"That’s why I’ve never been a drug guy. I’ve always felt I didn’t have the mental stability to handle drugs."
