COWELL DEFENDS LAP-DANCING OBSESSION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:38 pm

Music mogul SIMON COWELL has defended his weakness for lap-dancing clubs - and insists those who don’t like the scantily-clad cavorting ladies are ‘odd’.
The American Idol judge admits his partner of five years, Terri Seymour, isn’t fond of his penchant for lap-dancers, but concedes the experience helps him relax.
And Cowell believes those who don’t like lap-dancing clubs "have a problem".
He says, "I don’t have a problem with saying I like lap-dancers. Nothing wrong with that. If you don’t, you’ve got a bit of a problem.
"I haven’t got them living in my house. Sometimes I go out with some mates and we have a laugh. Terri’s not exactly doing a dance herself when I say I’m going out with the boys.
"But you’ve got to let off a bit of steam occasionally. It’s fun!"

BRIAN COX WAS A KNIGHT IN PAST LIFE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:38 pm

Scottish actor BRIAN COX was once a medieval knight who guarded the Holy Grail - something he discovered after he was hypnotised.
The X-Men star saw himself dressed in armour with a flag flying behind him when he went through hypnotic regression, but it was not until he visited Russia with his daughter Margaret he discovered what his vision was about.
He says, "I saw myself in chain mail armour. There was a flag behind me with a faded silver or golden cross on a background of red.
"About three years later, Margaret was studying in St Petersburg and we went to a museum. She shouted ‘dad, dad’ and dragged me to see the flag I had seen during my hypnosis. I was amazed.
"It was one used by the Knights Templar, who guarded the Holy Grail. So I guess I must have been involved in that Baltic crusade."

EVANS TO DITCH HOLLYWOOD CAREER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:36 pm

British comedian LEE EVANS is set to turn his back on his Hollywood career to concentrate on his stand-up comedy routine.
The Something About Mary star has vowed to stay in his native Britain with wife and 13-year-old daughter Molly because Tinseltown ‘drives him mad’.
He says, "I live here, my daughter goes to school her, I can’t go back to Hollywood - it absolutely drives me mad." And the star has also claimed a world record with his return to live shows, selling out 15,000 seats for a gig at London’s o2 Arena in less than an hour.
He says, "I’d always wanted to be in the Guinness Book Of Records. I thought I was going to do it by eating jam pies, or being the bloke with the most spoons in his ear or something.
"It’s amazing and I’m so pleased by how well it’s all gone so far. The o2 is the biggest venue I’ve ever played, so it’s pretty daunting. I’m scared s**tless actually but I can’t wait to get back out on tour again."

COWELL: ‘I’M A FATHER TO FIVE MILLION’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:36 pm

AMERICAN IDOL judge SIMON COWELL sees himself as a father figure to five million kids - namely the show’s audience.
The music mogul, 48, insists he is happy for his fatherly instinct to stay that way, as he believes he’s too career-obsessed to have children with 33-year-old partner Terri Seymour.
He says, "I’ve got about five million kids in the world at the moment - all the kids that watch our shows.
"I still have a lifestyle right now that is so unstable in many ways, in terms of the hours and travelling. It’s 18 hours a day.
"Terri is keen. But I was open from day one. I was 43 when we met and I said, ‘I can’t see this changing. I’m sort of obsessed with my work and I have a feeling it’s going to get worse.’"

SHETTY SLAMS ‘GERE KISS’ PROTESTORS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:35 pm

Bollywood star SHILPA SHETTY has slammed protestors who reacted to her kiss with RICHARD GERE by burning effigies - branding them "lunatics".
The actress was at the centre of a national scandal in India in April (07) after she was kissed several times in jest on the cheek by the Pretty Woman star at an AIDS-awareness event, and was later the subject of an arrest warrant for breaking public decency laws.
She says, "I was shocked people reacted that way but it was just a lunatic fringe trying to gain political mileage.
"Most Indian people are not like that. I belong to the newer generation and we were appalled by the reaction." The charges against Shetty, 32, were later suspended by India’s Supreme Court but last month (Sep07) she was "hassled" by immigration officials at Mumbai airport who thought she still had to face charges.

BYNES DENIES DIVA BEHAVIOUR AT FILM FESTIVAL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:33 pm

HAIRSPRAY star AMANDA BYNES’ agent has denied reports she behaved ‘like a diva’ during the Turks and Caicos Film Festival last week (ends26Oct07).
The actress, 21, who received the Rising Star award at the event in the Caribbean, is alleged to have skipped official engagements and even refused to attend a celebrity boat cruise alongside Oscar-nominated actor Michael Clarke Duncan and model/actress Gabrielle Union.
Sources also claim Bynes demanded four first-class plane tickets and two lavish double suites during her stay on the islands.
A festival organiser tells the New York Post’s Page Six, "I literally didn’t see her for days after she arrived at the hotel. Everyone was wondering where she was. She was off jet-skiing, treating it like a vacation.
"She was invited to show at the events. For someone to come down and play diva and only enjoy the island was irresponsible." But Leslie Sloane Zelnick, Byne’s representative, insists the reports are false.
She says, "It’s absolutely not true. She is the nicest girl, she makes no demands, she was offered those tickets and her rooms by the festival. She even paid for all her own meals."

COLE: ‘I HAVE NO SYMPATHY FOR DRUG ADDICTS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:32 pm

GIRLS ALOUD star CHERYL COLE has no sympathy for drug addicts and insists drug-abusing celebrities like PETE DOHERTY are a "waste of fresh air".
The British singer plans to open a support network for families of drug addicts when her pop career ends after seeing a close friend die from a heroin overdose two years ago.
She says, "That nightmare devastated family and friends. But I don’t have sympathy for the addicts. I don’t give a f*** how they feel. If they’re in pain, it’s self-inflicted." And Cole admits she is "devastated" to see Amy Winehouse "going down that road" but blames celebrities like Pete Doherty for glamorising heroin use.
She adds, "Pete Doherty is a waste of fresh air. Why are pictures of celebs shooting up entertainment? It’s like the Mickey Mouse club and it’s not f***ing funny."

PAVAROTTI WIDOW: ‘THERE IS NO WILL FEUD’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:32 pm

LATEST: The widow of late opera star LUCIANO PAVAROTTI has insisted there is no feud over the singer’s will.
Nicoletta Mantovani is adamant the rumoured altercations between herself and the tenor’s three daughters is merely a media fabrication, and the singer "took care of everybody" in his will.
Mantovani was the subject of much controversy after it was revealed Pavarotti left half of his estate to his widow, and the remaining half to his children.
But in her first interview since Pavarotti’s death, she says, "I’m here and can defend myself. But Luciano can’t, and Alice (the couple’s daughter) is a four-year-old child.
"I owe it to the two people closest to me. Luciano was someone who took care of everything in every sense… meaning he left enough for everyone.
"Between me and his daughters, there is no disagreement. The press and television that is trying to incriminate that relationship is truly unseemly." Mantovani also confirmed recent reports she suffers from multiple sclerosis (MS), a condition which affects the body’s central nervous system.
Pavarotti died after a battle with pancreatic cancer on 6 September (07).
