Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:21 pm

KID ROCK hates picking fights - because he doesn’t want to be labelled a troublemaker.
The rap/rocker scrapped with former love rival Tommy Lee at the MTV Video Music Awards last month (Sep07) and was arrested following a scuffle at a Waffle House restaurant in Georgia on Sunday (21Oct07).
But Rock insists he isn’t always looking for trouble.
He says, "The last thing I want is that reputation… I believe in just standing up for things I believe in and being honest, and sometimes it gets me in a little bit of trouble.

The filmmaker admits he rarely listens to music, and when he does he plays Irish music for pleasure.
He says, "I like folk music or gypsy stuff. I like simple stuff. I don’t really like popular music.
"I don’t know why I feel so drawn to Irish Republican songs, considering I’m a Brit, but I feel as though they have a lot of soul.

CARELL WRITES ADVICE COLUMN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:14 pm

Funnyman STEVE CARELL has turned agony uncle, dishing out his brand of comedic advice in a column in Thursday’s (25Oct07) edition of an American newspaper.
Carell plays an advice columnist in new movie Dan In Real Life, so editors at USA Today decided to see how he’d fare answering real people’s problem letters.
In one letter, Sean Herriott, from Green Bay, Wisconsin, writes about how he’s finding it increasingly difficult to laugh at his five-year-old daughter’s unfunny jokes.
Carell replies: "Let me start by saying intuitive children are the worst.
Just bear in mind that because of this your life will only get more complicated. For your sake, and the sake of your child, you must become a better liar." Another reader, Shirley Davis, from Alexandria, Virginia, wonders how best to tell a neighbour to stop parking her car in her parking space.
Carell recommends: "My advice is to find an inflatable exact replica of your vehicle. Leave that in your parking space when you are away using your car."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:14 pm

The Almost Famous star has been donating money to the non-profit organisation, which collects food from New York restaurants to give to the homeless, for years.

He tells USA Today newspaper, "I moved to New York about 15 years ago and pretty quickly realised that dealing with the hunger issue on a moment-to-moment basis was difficult.
"When I started making money as an actor, I started donating. That was the only capacity (writing cheques) that I was involved with.
"When they called me about this (honour), I was so moved because I didn’t even know that I gave to them."

MAGAZINE APOLOGISES TO PORTMAN OVER FILM MIX-UP

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:14 pm

A U.S. magazine has been forced to apologise to actress NATALIE PORTMAN after suggesting she’s far from happy with her performance in short film HOTEL CHEVALIER.
Sunday supplement Parade stated Portman was talking about the movie, in which she appears nude, when she commented about an "uncomfortable" scene she shot in a forthcoming essay she wrote for the publication.
But the actress’ publicist, Kelly Bush, has pounced on Parade, insisting her client was actually talking about a torture scene in new film Goya’s Ghosts.
A statement from the magazine’s publicist reads: "We say that Portman regrets doing a nude scene in the movie Hotel Chevalier. This is wrong. When Portman writes about this in Parade, she does not mention a specific movie title.
"She tells us she was referring to a torture scene with a body double in Goya’s Ghosts, which was taken out of context and leaked onto the internet.
Portman is very happy with Hotel Chevalier and proud of her work in the film." In her essay, Portman admits she is still rather upset about agreeing to do something she felt awkward about, writing, "I’m really sorry I didn’t listen to my intuition. From now on, I’m going to trust my gut more."

MATCHBOX TWENTY STAR ATTACKS DJS OVER ‘BLACKMAIL’ BID

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:08 pm

MATCHBOX TWENTY star ROB THOMAS has blasted two callous North Carolina DJs who poked fun at his recent food poisoning problems in a letter to a local newspaper.
Thomas was forced to scrap an appearance on the Matt & Ramona Show because he was so sick and was appalled to learn the DJs had openly mocked his illness on the radio.
Matt & Ramona told listeners that they wouldn’t play another Matchbox Twenty tune on air until the singer personally apologised to the fans who had tuned in to hear the interview.
Thomas writes he was not happy to hear about the "blackmail", nor the fact that the DJs "chose to read and make fun of letters that fans sent".
He concludes, "We thank you for the years of support and are sorry it has to come to an end, but there is no way we will ever apologise after being threatened on the air."

ROCK JOKES ABOUT WAFFLE HOUSE FIGHT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:36 pm

KID ROCK poked fun at his recent Waffle House scuffle in Atlanta during an appearance on pal ELLEN DeGENERES’ chat show - by presenting her with a T-shirt from the restaurant.
The rocker/rapper was arrested and charged with a misdemeanour of simple battery after the scuffle early on Sunday (21Oct07).
But the Devil Without A Cause hitmaker was all smiles as he showed off his scarred knuckles to DeGeneres after presenting her with a Waffle House `Eat My Grits’ T-shirt.
Speaking publicly for the first time since the incident, he said, "We were celebrating, we had a great show that night. We were hungry, it was late at night, we had been doing some drinking.
"I know people work hard at the Waffle House, so I tipped people behind the counter, I gave them $300 (£150) to split up, bought everyone breakfast in there.
"We were having a good time and this one kid just started… and then one thing led to another and windows were broken, you know, cussin’ and fussin’ in the mud, the blood and the beer." Rock, real name Robert Ritchie, knew he was heading for trouble when the youth who started on him said he was hoping for a fight - so he could sue the star.

SPEARS HIT-AND-RUN CHARGES DISMISSED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:35 pm

LATEST: BRITNEY SPEARS has escaped a misdemeanour hit-and-run charge, after it was dismissed in a California court.
The star allegedly smashed into a parked car in a private parking lot in the San Fernando Valley on 6 August (07) in Los Angeles while driving without a valid licence.
Earlier this month (Oct07), Spears impressed the vehicle’s owner Kim Robard-Rifkin by offering a personal apology and $1,000 (£500) in compensation - which caused the charges to be dismissed in a Van Nuys court.
Spears’ lawyer J. Michael Flanagan says Robard-Rifkin "is very sympathetic toward Britney and hopes the best for her." But it’s not the end of legal troubles for the troubled star - Spears has been ordered to appear in court on 26 November (07) over the charges of driving without a valid California driver’s licence. According to Flanagan, L.A. City Attorneys plan to seek a probation term and fine against the singer.
