SURFER SLATER DETAINED IN ISRAEL
Surfing celebrity KELLY SLATER was detained in Israel on Saturday (20Oct07) after fighting with photographers trying to get a shot of him with supermodel girlfriend BAR RAFAELI.
Slater, who was romantically linked with Cameron Diaz after her split from Justin Timberlake earlier this year (07), is now dating Leonardo DiCaprio’s ex - but he wasn’t ready for the world to know when he visited Rafaeli in her native Tel Aviv at the weekend (20/21Oct07).
The champion surfer, who is of Syrian descent, was visiting Israel for the first time as part of efforts by the group Surfing for Peace to promote reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians through the sport.
Slater was questioned and released by police after a scuffle broke out between him and two photographers.
