SPECTOR STILL LOOKING FOR A NEW LEAD LAWYER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:35 pm

Music producer PHIL SPECTOR was back in court on Monday (22Oct07) to tell a judge he’s still searching for a new lead lawyer to defend him at his retrial for the murder of actress LANA CLARKSON.
The 67-year-old appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court with his attorney Christopher Plourd - the only member of his legal team left after Spector dismissed his defence.
Judge Larry Paul Fidler set a 6 November (07) hearing for Spector to confirm who his new attorney is. He added it would probably take a further 60 days for a new lawyer to prepare for the retrial.
Judge Fidler told the hearing, "I want Mr. Spector to be comfortable with this attorney." Spector’s original murder trial was ruled a mistrial last month (Sep07) when jurors couldn’t agree unanimously on a guilty verdict.
He still stands accused of murdering Clarkson at his Alhambra, California mansion in 2003.
During the trial, Spector’s legal team maintained Clarkson was depressed and suicidal and shot herself.
The producer used three legal teams during the five-month trial. He fired his first attorney and New York lawyer Bruce Cutler quit as lead counsel after disagreeing with his client.
