WINFREY CONDEMNS ALLEGATIONS OF MISCONDUCT
Talk show host OPRAH WINFREY has condemned the removal of an employee at her school in Johannesburg by child protection officers.
Professional investigators from both South Africa and the U.S. arrived at the school to conduct an internal inquiry based on claims of misconduct by an unnamed staff member.
She says, "Nothing is more serious or devastating to me than an allegation of misconduct by an adult again any girl at the academy. I will do everything within my power to ensure their safety and well-being." Winfrey spent $40 million (£20 million) of her own money to build the school for South African girls whose parents earn less than $700 (£350) a month. It opened in January this year (07).
