Oscar winner SEAN PENN hates paparazzi photographers so much he wants to see them imprisoned.
The Mystic River star has long harboured a resentment towards the paparazzi he was once arrested for scrapping with a photographer while dating pop superstar Madonna and was also accused of manhandling members of the press at his brother’s funeral in 2006.
But the 46-year-old is unrepentant about his actions.
He says, "I still think photographers should be lashed out at. They should be put in a cage where you can poke them with a stick for a quarter. But not in a hostile way, just for giggles. "They really are on the attack against mankind; it’s a disease. They should be helped somewhere. But I’d still like to poke them with a stick."

The soccer star confesses he idolises the Bullitt star, and tries to emulate his look.

Troubled singer ROBBIE WILLIAMS is close to a drink and drugs relapse just eight months after leaving rehab, according to a former lover.
The Angels hitmaker sought help for his addictions at a strict rehabilitation clinic in Tucson, Arizona earlier this year (13Feb07).
But despite intensive therapy for an addiction to painkillers, Williams remains plagued by his demons, according to ex-girlfriend Suzanne Coplin.
She tells British newspaper the News of the World, "His addictions are far from behind him. It is a struggle for him to stay out of trouble every second of his life.
"He is just so vulnerable and said to me, ‘When will I be free from this hell?’"

Irish boy band WESTLIFE insist BRITNEY SPEARS won’t stop their new album from reaching number one in the U.K. charts - because fans are no longer interested in her music.
The group is to release their new LP Back Home on 29 October (07) - the week after Spears’ comeback album Blackout on 22 October (07).
But the Flying Without Wings hitmakers aren’t worried about the competition.
Singer Nicky Byrne says, "I would be surprised if Britney keeps us off number one, I don’t think the interest in Britney’s music is as big as it used to be.
"It’s more about her personal life. I’m sure it’s a good album but I think she’s lost her core fan base."

Actress KIM CATTRALL knew boyfriend ALAN WYSE was a great catch on their first date, because he had no idea who she was.
The pair met when Cattrall visited 27-year-old chef Wyse’s Toronto restaurant.

British actress ROSAMUND PIKE will marry film director JOE WRIGHT next May (08), according to reports.
The pair - who met on the set of period drama Pride and Prejudice two years ago (05) - got engaged at at Lake Como in Italy on the eve of the Venice Film Festival last month (Sep08).

Seventies pop star DONNY OSMOND was once so desperate to rid himself of his clean-cut image, he considered setting up a drug bust.
The singer, 49, rose to fame with the solo hits Puppy Love and Go Away Little Girl when he was just 14-years-old - and admits he soon grew tired of his wholesome image.
He says, "As I grew up, I hated what I was. I started wearing torn jeans, I didn’t shave… My publicist even put together a campaign to get me busted for drugs to dirty up my image. I almost went for it.
"Then I thought: ‘Hang on, I may have been told what to do and what to sing, but the bottom line is, I did it. I got up there and wore those clothes and sang those songs. I might as well embrace it and own it.’"

Scottish rockers IDLEWILD were almost forced to cancel their U.K. tour after guitarist ROD JONES fell down a flight of stairs 30 minutes before going onstage.
The 30-year-old was watching support act The Twilight Sad at the Carling Academy in Liverpool when he tripped and fell, injuring his arm.
He says, "One minute I was watching the band and the next I was at the bottom of a flight of stairs. I landed on my arm which is the worst thing possible for a guitarist.
"I thought we were going to have to cancel a whole bunch of shows. We discussed pulling out of the tour because I didn’t want to do my arm any more damage. "After the gig we went straight to the hospital to get it checked out. I was told I had a hairline fracture but the doctor said I could continue to play. He joked that it probably wasn’t the most advisable thing, but it would be okay and shouldn’t get any worse."

RAZORLIGHT and LUDACRIS will headline NELSON MANDELA’s AIDS awareness concert in South Africa later this year (07).

American rapper PHARRELL WILLIAMS was forced to apologise to an Irish TV presenter after refusing to answer questions about troubled singer BRITNEY SPEARS. Williams, 34, was asked by Xpose presenter Karen Koster if he would consider another collaboration with Spears - six years after the release of their hit I’m a Slave 4 U.
But the hip-hop star reacted furiously to the question and stormed from the stage.
However, he later apologised for his actions.
Koster says, "He was pretty annoyed when I asked the Britney question but then he softened a bit. Later I thought we were all done, but he comes over, places his hand on my back and says that he still felt bad."

LATEST: Rapper T.I. could lose a lucrative advertising contract following his arrest for attempting to purchase an arsenal of weapons in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday (13Oct07).
The Bring ‘Em Out star - real name Clifford Harris, Jr. - could be axed by car manufacturers Chevrolet after being charged with felony possession of unregistered machine guns and silencers and possession of firearms by a convicted felon.
Harris appeared in a commercial for Chevrolet in which he rapped and raced alongside All-American NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr.
A spokesman for Chevrolet tells website TMZ, "they are reviewing the situation." Harris was taken into custody on Saturday (13Oct07) after he allegedly sent his bodyguard to buy three machine guns and two silencers from the cop, posing as an arms dealer.
The arrest took place hours before T.I. was due to attend the B.E.T. Hip-Hop Awards, where he was scheduled to perform.

Former NYPD BLUE star AMY BRENNEMAN knew she’d found her Mr. Right in filmmaker BRAD SILBERLING when he almost cried after she bought him popcorn on their first movie date.
Brenneman didn’t realise a trip to the concessions stand at her local cinema would be packed with so much meaning.
She recalls, "I bought him his own popcorn and soda and he almost cried.
"That had been a source of anxiety for him in the past with other relationships, so the fact that he knew I was fine with being treated as a separate entity was incredible.
"I always think of us like two little dogs who run together!" Brenneman and Silberling have been married for 12 years.

SIR IAN McKELLEN would be "disappointed" if he could not reprise his role as wizard GANDALF in the movie adaptation of JRR TOLKIEN’s novel THE HOBBIT.
McKellen, who has appeared in the role in each of the three films from the Lord of the Rings trilogy, is eager to land the part - even though Peter Jackson will not be directing.
He says, "If I am still functioning and working well, it is very likely I would be asked to do it. "I am glad to read that it is looking more and more likely.
"I would be disappointed if they didn’t want to have the original Gandalf." And the Lord of the Rings’ original director Peter Jackson, who pulled out of the planned production due to a legal dispute with film studio New Line, has given his support if McKellen chose to appear in the prequel.
McKellen adds, "When Peter announced he had withdrawn from The Hobbit, he sent me an email saying: ‘Because I am not going to do it, it doesn’t mean you have to do the same. Of course, you must play Gandalf whether I direct or not’."
