JACKSON HOPES NEW FILM ENCOURAGES COUPLES TO SEEK GUIDANCE
JANET JACKSON hopes her hit new film WHY DID I GET MARRIED? encourages troubled couples to seek marriage guidance counselling.
The twice-divorced singer/actress admits she would have benefitted from the film’s message, which is not to let your union become a mess.
And amid reports she’s set to wed for a third time, Jackson reveals she’s not averse to walking down the aisle again, but this time she’ll consider seeking expert help if her marriage falters.
She says, "I think just having that spiritual connection and finding your soulmate and exchanging vows, is good - but it’s a work in progress.
"Marriage is not easy and if the love is really there you’ll work at it. You should go to counselling if it can help for sure and it definitely can help.
"One of the things that I absolutely love about this film is there are a lot of lessons within the film that are given to the spouses to work on for their relationship and you can actually take those lessons and apply them to your own relationship. It’s really well thought out." Why Did I Get Married? stunned movie experts on Sunday (14Oct07) when it debuted at number one on the U.S. box office chart with an impressive $21.5 million (£10.75 million) opening weekend take.
