SPRINGSTEEN MAGIC AT NUMBER ONE IN AMERICA
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN has conjured up a Trans-Atlantic double by taking his hit new album MAGIC to the top of both the British and American charts.
The rocker topped the albums chart in Britain on Sunday (07Sep07) and now he has rocketed to number one in America after notching up 335,000 sales of Magic in its first week on release.
The album is The Boss’ seventh number one, and topples Rascal Flatts’ Still Feels Good, which falls to number two on the new Billboard countdown.
Rockers Matchbox Twenty debut at three with Exile On Mainstream, while teenage rap sensation Soulja Boy enters the new chart at four with his first album souljaboytellem.com, and R&B singer J. Holiday lands at five with his debut release Back Of My ‘Lac.
The only other new entry in the top 10 is Annie Lennox’s Songs Of Mass Destruction, which comes in at nine.
