BRITNEY SPEARS is giving her fans a scare - the pop superstar is moving the release date of her new album forward by two weeks to the day before Halloween (31Oct07).
Blackout, Spears’ first disc of new material since 2003’s In The Zone, will now be released on 30 October (07) in a bid to combat internet leaks.
A statement from her record label Jive reads: "Due to these numerous unauthorised online leaks, the label is doing everything possible to prevent and avoid any further illegal distribution of songs including moving up the release date of the album to 30 October."

BRITNEY SPEARS can add husband beater to her shameful resume, if new reports surrounding ex-husband KEVIN FEDERLINE are to be believed.
Insiders claim a court-imposed order for Spears not to use corporal punishment on the couple’s sons stem from claims Federline has made that he was attacked by his wife during their two-year marriage.
A source tells America’s Life & Style magazine, "Kevin asked for that (in the custody case) because he’s sacred she’ll hit the kids… Kevin says she hit him several times during their marriage." But a Spears source tells the magazine, "This is just another attempt to make Britney look like a bad mom."

LATEST: DAVID HASSELHOFF has checked out of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after suffering a relapse in his bid to kick alcoholism over the weekend (06/07Oct07).
The Baywatch creator reportedly checked into Cedars-Sinai on Tuesday morning (09Oct07) and left the hospital later the same day.
New reports suggest Hasselhoff was admitted to the hospital for alcohol poisoning - after a booze bender.
Hasselhoff’s representative Judy Katz says, "He went home last night and is doing fine." Before his release, Katz explained, "David had a brief relapse and immediately recognised the importance of addressing it with the assistance of his doctors." Hasselhoff decided to address his alcohol abuse issues earlier this year (07) after his teenage daughter caught him on camera slurring his words while eating a hamburger during a drunken episode on the floor of Las Vegas hotel suite.
Meanwhile, Hasselhoff’s ex-wife Pamela Bach has offered her support to her troubled former husband.
Bach says, "I wish David the best. I just hope he gets better."

PRINCE WILLIAM is to become the first member of the British royal family to serve in all three branches of the military - after signing up to undertake stints with the U.K.’s air force and navy next year (08).
William, who is currently a second lieutenant in the British army, will start a four-month attachment with the Royal Air Force in January (08) before going on to serve a period in the Royal Navy.
According to a statement, the plan is to "familiarise" the second-in-line to the British throne with "the structures, capabilities and ethos of the RAF and the Royal Navy."

The 20-year-old Swedish tourist PARIS HILTON is championing as the next big name model was a pizza delivery boy living in a $29(£14.50)-a-night Los Angeles hostel when the socialite met him.
Alex Vaggo, who has been romantically linked to Hilton, can’t believe his luck now he’s on the fast track to success after meeting The Simple Life star at restaurant Mr. Chow.
Vaggo admits he drove past the heiress’ family estate on a Hollywood celebrity-homes tour just days before they became immediate friends.
He tells Life & Style magazine, "I saw Paris’ convertible sitting there and two weeks later I’m sitting next to her in the car. It’s unbelievable." Vaggo tells the publication he had worked as a model in his native Sweden before coming to America for a break before heading off to college to train to become a doctor.
He says, "I wanted some time off before college to travel. I needed money for my trip to America, so I worked at a delivery company for three months and I was a pizza boy." But now he’s Hilton’s new boy toy: "We hit it off right away. She’s so funny and sweet.
"(Thanks to her) I’m modelling, taking meetings, going to clubs, eating at great restaurants and living the high life. It’s amazing. She’s changed my life in every way." Vaggo’s first Paris-prompted assignment was a role in singer Mickey Avalon’s new video.
He recalls, "It was two days after I met Paris. She wanted me in the video. I was like, ‘Yeah, right, cool!’ I also spent time dog-sitting for her (Paris). I held her dog, Jimi Hendrix. He’s really cute."

BEN AFFLECK considered quitting Hollywood in the aftermath of his much-publicised relationship with JENNIFER LOPEZ.
The actor-turned-director was engaged to Lopez when the couple split in 2004, both parties blaming excessive tabloid coverage for the separation.
And Affleck was so sick of his lifestyle, he almost took up a new line of work.
In an interview with American magazine Parade, Affleck says, "I took a year off. I needed time to get my head straight and figure out if I even wanted to work in this business anymore.
"I was tired of being lied about and taken advantage of. I was really disgusted."

The actress is currently continuing rehab with outpatient treatment after checking out of the Cirque Lodge in Utah on Friday (05Oct07), but she’s staying close to the facility.
Her father Michael, who is currently taking care of the Mean Girls star, says, "She said, ‘Dad, I don’t feel ready to go back to Hollywood.’" Lohan’s father also reveals that the troubled actress has a sober companion with her at all times - in a bid to make sure she doesn’t return to her wild ways.
He tells Life & Style magazine, "That’s how committed Lindsay is to her sobriety. She doesn’t want to do anything to mess it up. She’s doing so well.
"She’s doing whatever she can to keep the right influences around her." And when she does return to Hollywood, where she’s scheduled to shoot new scenes for her latest film Dare To Love Me, Lohan will be accompanied by a sober companion.
Her father says, "Cirque representatives are looking for a place for her to stay. It will be somewhere safe, where she can continue her treatment."

Former THE WEST WING star KRISTIN CHENOWETH is smiling through the pain after cracking ribs and damaging her chest wall in a parking lot fall.
The actress/singer tumbled down 12 concrete stairs four weeks ago on her way to a first date with a new guy, and ended up spending the night in hospital.
She recalls, "Nobody was around. I decided to try to get to the lobby and all I could do was crawl on this arm… There’s people everywhere all the time (but) not this day.
"I was getting ready to go out on a date and the guy took me to the hospital instead. It was a wonderful date - he saw all my lingerie… I’m so glad I matched!" Chenoweth is now treading carefully as she recovers from her fall - but she admits the drugs are helping as she films new U.S. TV series Pushing Daisies.
She explains, "Percocet, by the way, is a great drug… It can addict you, but I noticed I was very good in the scenes… They (producers) just said they saw the episode the other day and I was great, I was better than ever. I was like, ‘Should I just take drugs?’"

Actress RITA WILSON and lesbian comedienne/chat show host ELLEN DeGENERES were once paired up as good-time girls in an audition for adult comedy CASUAL SEX.
The odd couple, who are now firm friends, met as they waited for the test, and DeGeneres had to pretend she was boy-hungry throughout the audition.
Wilson reminded her pal of their first encounter when she guested on her daytime show on Wednesday (10Oct07).
She recalled, "We were paired up as the girls who were gonna go on vacation and find cool guys and, of course, we didn’t get the parts… but we had so much fun doing it." DeGeneres quipped, "They (casting directors) probably were like, ‘That Rita’s good but I don’t buy it for the other girl. LATEST: American reality TV star JON DALTON is suing former PARTRIDGE FAMILY child star DANNY BONADUCE, alleging the red-headed actor and radio host assaulted him.
Officials at the Los Angeles district attorney’s office refused to file charges against Bonaduce after he threw former Survivor star Dalton - aka Jonny Fairplay - over his shoulders onstage at the Fox Reality Channel Really Awards on 2 October (07).
They concluded there wasn’t enough evidence to charge Bonaduce with battery.
But Dalton, who claims he lost teeth when he was dropped on his face, is calling the Bonaduce attack "an unjustified and surprise assault".
In his lawsuit, Dalton, who was presenting at the event when Bonaduce leapt to the stage, claims, "Instead of immediately calling an ambulance to care for (me) or taking other action, the defendants - the television channel, the producers and the owner of the venue hosting the event - did nothing." Fairplay is suing for battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence and negligent supervision.

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN has conjured up a Trans-Atlantic double by taking his hit new album MAGIC to the top of both the British and American charts.
The rocker topped the albums chart in Britain on Sunday (07Sep07) and now he has rocketed to number one in America after notching up 335,000 sales of Magic in its first week on release.
The album is The Boss’ seventh number one, and topples Rascal Flatts’ Still Feels Good, which falls to number two on the new Billboard countdown.
Rockers Matchbox Twenty debut at three with Exile On Mainstream, while teenage rap sensation Soulja Boy enters the new chart at four with his first album souljaboytellem.com, and R&B singer J. Holiday lands at five with his debut release Back Of My ‘Lac.
The only other new entry in the top 10 is Annie Lennox’s Songs Of Mass Destruction, which comes in at nine.

OZZY OSBOURNE has pledged to keep his touring rock festival Ozzfest going for another year after insisting this summer’s (07) trek would be his last.
But he has upset fans of heavy rock supergroup Black Sabbath by revealing talk of a grand reunion for Ozzfest ‘08 is just that - all talk.
Instead, Osbourne will headline the festival solo again. The rocker has now performed at every Ozzfest since the tour’s 1996 inception.
Speaking during a tele-conference promoting his upcoming tour with Rob Zombie, Osbourne said, "Oh yeah!" when reporters asked if he’d be part of a 2008 Ozzfest.
The revelation comes a week after the brother of Osbourne’s manager wife Sharon told the British media he feared Ozzy is "worn out" and that his sister would "keep Ozzy on the road until … he dies onstage".
But Ozzy says, "Sharon does not get involved in telling me about working…
My wife can’t make me do anything I don’t want to do." As for the speculation about a Black Sabbath reunion, the rocker says, "I’m the last person to be told anything… I’d love to do another Black Sabbath album… There are a bunch of things written.
"But the problem I’m having is it’s got to be at least on the same level as when we departed. If it’s not, then what’s the point in doing it?"

Former ‘N SYNC star LANCE BASS felt "completely betrayed" when JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE announced he was leaving the boyband in 2004.
Speaking honestly about the band’s split for the first time in his new autobiography, Bass admits he was angry that Timberlake waited two years after the group went on hiatus in 2002 to reveal his news.
In the upcoming Out Of Sync, Bass reveals Timberlake blamed the group’s break-up on his four bandmates - suggesting they were interested in other ventures.
Bass writes, "He didn’t think any of us was operating in the best interest of the band. I asked him what he meant by that, and he said, `Well, you know, when y’all did your movie,’ meaning Joey (Fatone) and me (and their 2001 film On The Line)…
"I couldn’t believe it. That sounded like the lamest excuse imaginable. Joey and I looked at each other in amazement…
"According to Justin the whole reason for the break-up of ‘N Sync was everyone else’s fault? That was crazy! All of us had done nothing but wait around for him to feel he was ready to start work on a new ‘N Sync album…
"And hadn’t Justin made a movie (2000’s Model Behaviour) the year before we did ours?…

The U Can’t Touch This hitmaker - real name Stanley Burrell - was reported to have passed away in a mix-up with another man who shares his name.

LATEST: R&B star BOBBY BROWN is "recovering nicely" from a mild heart attack he suffered on Tuesday (09Oct07).
The 38-year-old singer felt chest pain and tingling in his arm on Tuesday afternoon and was taken to Tarzana Regional Medical Center in California by his manager/girlfriend Alicia Etheredge.
However, by Wednesday (10Oct07) morning Brown was in "great spirits" and has been given "a great prognosis from his doctors", according to his spokeswoman Paedra Parks.
She adds, "He’s recovering nicely. We thank everybody for their thoughts and prayers. We really appreciate the outpouring of support." Brown is expected to be discharged from hospital later on Wednesday and still hopes to perform at the V100 Taste Of Soul concert in Los Angeles on Saturday (13Oct07).

SAMUEL L. JACKSON is so desperate to make a cameo appearance in British comedy show LITTLE BRITAIN, he’s prepared to sidestep his agents’ orders.
Jackson is banned from appearing in American TV shows so that he won’t damage his Hollywood A-list image. The rule means he can’t appear in the forthcoming U.S. version of Little Britain - but doesn’t stop him jetting to the U.K. to star in the British version.
