MONROE DRESSES ‘ARE FAKE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:02 am

An iconic white dress apparently worn by MARILYN MONROE has been exposed as a fake at a museum in England.
The halter-neck dress - which Monroe wore in the famous subway vent scene in The Seven-Year Itch - is among seven costumes on show at an exhibition in Brighton.
But Monroe expert Mark Bellinghaus says the dress was never worn by the screen icon and is considering legal action.
He says, "These dresses were never worn by Marilyn Monroe as advertised.
Looking at what Monroe wore versus the pictures, they are not one and the same.
The copies in no way resemble what was worn by Monroe. They look brand new.
They are fooling the public." But a spokesman for the exhibition, The Lost Dresses of Marilyn Monroe, insists they are genuine, adding "They are not fakes. For the films, there was always more than one copy made but they were actually worn by Marilyn."
