DAVID HASSELHOFF is in talks to join the cast of the latest sequels to snake saga ANACONDA.
The Baywatch creator is slated to join The Lord Of The Rings star John Rhys Davies and Maid In Manhattan’s Crystal Allen in two proposed sequels to the cult film from director Luis Llosa.
Hasselhoff is down to play a mercenary-for-hire who accepts a mission from a billionaire to capture a dangerous snake that could possibly help cure a terminal illness, according to Moviehole.net.
The films, which will be shot in Romania, will premiere on America’s Sci Fi Channel before hitting DVD.

BRITNEY SPEARS has passed her first court-imposed drug test with flying colours.
The troubled pop star, who is required to undergo testing under the terms of her ongoing child custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, took the test this weekend (06/07Oct07), according to website TMZ.com.
Sources also claim the singer spent the weekend with her two young sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and a parenting coach, who will determine whether the Toxic singer is fit to be a mother.
Spears lost physical custody of her sons last week (ends05Oct07) after Federline’s attorney revealed the singer was snubbing her nose at a series of court-imposed demands in the case.

Wedding planners were caught so offguard by PAMELA ANDERSON’s Las Vegas nuptials on Saturday (06Oct07), they had to fake a four-tier wedding cake made from cardboard.
The actress/model wed longtime pal Rick Salomon at the Mirage Hotel and guests were told of the ceremony at the last minute.
According to online gossip Marc Malkin, the wedding planners were given just 24 hours to get everything together after Anderson and Salomon, who applied for a marriage license last month (Sep07), decided to become man and wife on Friday (05Oct07).
One source says, "They went with a fake cardboard cake because planners weren’t able to find a real one in time."

SIR MICHAEL CAINE was among the first people to know his BATMAN BEGINS co-star KATIE HOLMES was dating TOM CRUISE - he was with the actress when the couple went public with their romance.
The British actor was promoting the film with Holmes when Cruise turned up at their hotel unannounced - to take his girlfriend out on a surprise date.
Caine recalls, "I got the biggest surprise when we went outside and there was Tom Cruise standing there. I didn’t know anything about their relationship and he just said to me, ‘Where’s my girl?’ "The journalists there went silent: ‘What’s Tom Cruise doing here?’ I said to Tom, ‘Who’s your girl?’ and he said, ‘Katie.’ It was quite extraordinary. British filmmaker KENNETH BRANAGH has revealed the German official who initially wanted TOM CRUISE banned from shooting in his country has apologised to the actor.
The unnamed German told Cruise he had misinterpreted the plot of the film, Valkyrie - about a real-life assassination attempt on Nazi leader Adolf Hitler - and was sorry for the fuss he had caused.
Branagh, who co-stars with Cruise, says, "All that nonsense about the Germans not wanting Tom Cruise there was largely exaggerated, and has to be said.
"A week into our shooting the man that led much of the noise that had been made rang up deeply apologetic and said, ‘I’m so sorry, I just read the script, it’s fantastic. I did not understand. I’m sorry.’ "We ended up shooting in some of the houses where the bombs had been hidden on their way to try and get rid of Mr. Hitler."

LINDSAY LOHAN has blamed her parents’ separation for her wild behaviour.
The actress, who checked into a Utah rehab facility in August (07), recently reunited with her father Michael after more than three years of estrangement.
And the tearful get together at her temporary Cirque Lodge home made Lohan realise how important family is.
The wildchild, who spent the first half of 2007 caught up in drink-driving and drug possession legal woes, tells In Touch Weekly magazine, "I think it was really important for me to get a connection back with my dad because I hadn’t had that in a while.
"I can relate to other people who don’t have both parents or have parents that are separated. It can be hard and draining on the children and the family.
"I think the trouble in my family resulted in me rebelling and doing things to try to get my parents’ attention. But all in all, it’s better for me now to have them (in my life). It’s healthy."

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, LINKIN PARK and BEYONCE KNOWLES join AMERICAN IDOL star CHRIS DAUGHTRY as the nominations leaders for this year’s (07) American Music Awards.
The quartet received three nominations apiece at the launch of the 35th annual ceremony on Tuesday (09Oct07).
Timberlake, Linkin Park and Daughtry will compete for the Favourite Pop/Rock Album prize, while Timberlake and Knowles will fight it out for Favourite Soul/R&B Album.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES actor ROBERT CHAVIRA wed his longtime girlfriend in a private ceremony last month (Sep07).
The 36-year-old, who plays Carlos Solis on the hit U.S. show, married Marcea Dietzel in San Antonio, Texas.

Actor NICK NOLTE is celebrating after becoming a father at 66.
The actor’s girlfriend, Clytie Lane, gave birth to the couple’s first child last Wednesday (03Oct07).
The Cape Fear star, who has a son from a previous marriage, and Lane have yet to name their child, who was born in Los Angeles.
Nolte’s spokesperson says, "The baby girl, who has yet to be named, weighed seven pounds and 13 ounces at birth. Both mother and daughter are doing well."

ROBERT REDFORD has been forced to scrap plans to make a third film with old pal PAUL NEWMAN - because his BUTCH CASSIDY & THE SUNDANCE KID partner is serious about retiring.
Newman, 82, announced his retirement in May (07), blaming memory loss and a lack of confidence for his decision, and the news shattered Redford’s dreams of making a final film with the actor-turned-philanthropist.
In an interview with Playboy magazine, Redford says, "It’s (a new movie together) not happening, sadly. Paul and I were planning on doing a film version of Bill Bryson’s wonderful book A Walk In The Woods.
"I got the rights to it four years ago, and we couldn’t decide if we were too old to do it. Then we decided, ‘Let’s go for it.’ "But time passed, and Paul’s been getting old fast. I think things deteriorated for him. Finally, two months ago he called and said, ‘I gotta retire.’ "The picture was written and everything. It breaks my heart."

Jurhs left the band amicably and Black Market Hero are now seeking his replacement, reports website Blabbermouth.net.

Veteran MOTORHEAD rocker LEMMY has slammed suggestions he should retire to make way for younger bands, because he’s adamant his group is still at the top of its game.
The 61-year-old sees no reason for Motorhead to quit, especially as the heavy rockers have always remained true to their roots.
In an interview with website Snuff.co.nz, Lemmy says, "Somebody said to me recently that I should retire and make room for some young ones and I said: ‘F**k you! I haven’t seen anyone better than me, so why should I jack it in?’ "People think rock ‘n’ roll is all about teenage rebellion, but why can’t there be old rebels as well? British rocker ELVIS COSTELLO is set to perform at U.S. presidential hopeful Senator HILLARY CLINTON’s 60th birthday party later this month (Oct07).
