WAHLBERG IN TRAINING FOR 20 MONTHS FOR BOXING ROLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:32 pm

MARK WAHLBERG is so serious about convincing audiences as boxing legend MICKEY ‘IRISH’ WARD in upcoming movie THE FIGHTER, he’s already been in training for a year.
Even though the film doesn’t start shooting for another eight months, Wahlberg has been getting up at four o’clock every morning for the last 12 months to get in top physical condition for the part.
The actor trains for hours each day despite the fact he’s currently filming another movie, The Happening.
He tells MTV, "It will be a year, on 13 October, that I have been training. I have another six to eight months of training before we actually start shooting.
We’re running, we’re watching fights… I’ve got a full ring set up at my house.
"(We’re shooting The Happening) in Philadelphia now, so it’s a bit of a Rocky thing. I am up at four in the morning. We go to the gym at five when it opens.
I’m jumping rope, hitting the speed bag, the double-end bag, the mitts, and we’re sparring a little bit."

REDFORD: ‘CELEBRITY WOULD GET IN WAY OF A POLITICAL CAREER’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:29 pm

Actor/director ROBERT REDFORD dismissed the idea of a career in politics after witnessing first-hand how his celebrity would prove too distracting for him to be taken seriously.
The All The President’s Men star became disillusioned when he followed Democrat candidate George McGovern’s U.S. presidential campaign in 1972 - and he soon realised he could attract a larger crowd simply because he was a Hollywood star.
Redford tells Playboy magazine, "Every film about politics I’ve made makes the point that politics compromises you. Your hands are tied, and I would never want to be in that position.
"I lost all interest in going into politics around the time the Watergate break-in occurred. I was promoting The Candidate, and I did a whistle-stop train tour with George McGovern and some other candidates.
"I wanted to make the point that I could draw more people just by standing on the back of the train. And that’s what happened. They would draw 300 or 400 people, then I would go out and get 3,000 or 4,000.
"I would tell the crowds, ‘Thank you all for coming. My fellow Americans, I just want you to know I have absolutely nothing important to say.’ And they would cheer."

REDFORD ADMITS ‘HYPOCRITICAL’ SPORTS CAR PASSION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:26 pm

ROBERT REDFORD is "hypocritical" when it comes to leading a green life - the active environmentalist admits he likes nothing better than driving around in his sports car.
Redford has long been an outspoken opponent of global warming, and while he has lived in a house with solar-powered heating for more than 30 years, he still likes to occasionally speed around in a high-performance, gas-guzzling vehicle.
The veteran actor/director tells Playboy magazine, "I drive hybrid cars. I’ve had passive solar heating and wind generation in my Utah home since 1975. I bike and ride horses as much as I can.
"But I must say, I do like racing fast cars. It’s a hypocritical, weak move on my part. We do what we can. But I’ve always loved speed.
"I love finding a good stretch of road and cutting loose in my Porsche.
That’s all I want to say about that."

KUNIS FED UP OF CULKIN ENGAGEMENT REPORTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:32 pm

Actress MILA KUNIS is sick of hearing reports claiming she and longterm boyfriend MACAULAY CULKIN are married - because they are all "made up".
The That 70’s Show star, 24, has been dating the Home Alone actor for six years, and admits false reports about alleged proposals, weddings and children can become tiresome.
She tells Parade magazine, "I’ve been engaged. I think I’ve already been married. And I’m sure I have a child somewhere. I’m waiting to have something else happen. No, I’m not married. And no, I’m not engaged. And no, I do not have a child.
"No one seems to listen. And next week I’ll be engaged again. I think, at one point, they were like, ‘Seen shopping in Beverly Hills for engagement rings.’ We were in Japan working. What is wrong with these people? Half the time you can say they misconstrued facts. But, more often than not, they just make stuff up."

BRICK LANE MOVIE HONOURED IN FRANCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:29 pm

Controversial British drama BRICK LANE has won two awards in France, just two weeks after its Royal Film Performance was cancelled.
The adaptation of Monica Ali’s best-selling novel was named Most Popular Film by audiences at the annual Dinard Film Festival as well as scooping the honour for Best Screenplay.
Royal officials decided to scrap the screening, which was planned to take place on 29 October (07), after the film sparked controversy when residents of the real Brick Lane in east London claimed that the film insulted their community.
Director Sarah Gavron was disappointed the movie was not shown but believes the protests are unfounded.
She says, "We’re hoping that once people get the opportunity to see the film they’ll realise there is nothing in it to object to."
