PRINCE WILLIAM has accused the paparazzi of "aggressively" pursuing him during the same week the inquest into the death of his mother DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES opened.
William’s spokesman Paddy Harverson said it was "incomprehensible" that the Prince and his on-off girlfriend Kate Middleton were pursued by photographers as they were driven away from Boujis nightclub in South Kensington, London on Thursday (4Oct07).
The spokesperson says, "Prince William was concerned by the threatening behaviour of the paparazzi in London last night (Thursday).
"Having already been photographed leaving the club, he and Kate were then pursued in his car by photographers on motorcycles, in vehicles and on foot.
"The aggressive pursuit was potentially dangerous and worrying for them. It seems incomprehensible, particularly at this time, that this behaviour is still going on." Diana died in car crash after she was allegedly pursued by paparazzi in 1997.

NATALIE PORTMAN has signed on to play TOBEY MAGUIRE’s young wife in a remake of hit Danish film BROTHERS.
Maguire will play a soldier sent to fight in Afghanistan, while his brother, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, looks after his wife and child back home.
Gladiator star Connie Nielsen portrayed the wife in Susanne Bier’s 2004 film.

HUGH GRANT got more than he bargained for after accepting the lead role in LOVE ACTUALLY - he found out he was related to child actor THOMAS SANGSTER.
The actor, 47, was unaware of the family ties with the 17-year-old actor until Sangster informed him on the set of the romantic comedy.
Sangster explains, "I remember thinking : ‘That’s that guy from Notting Hill.’ "That guy from Notting Hill was Hugh Grant, who turned out to be a cousin in sorts. His grandmother and my great-grandmother are sisters. He didn’t know. "I said: ‘Apparently, you are my uncle or my cousin or something.’ Then he kind of remembered my mum and uncle. So for the rest of the shoot he went round saying: ‘Hello cousin’ That felt quite cool."

Hollywood star MICHELLE PFEIFFER branded her STARDUST director MATTHEW VAUGHN "brutal" for making her endure Scottish high winds and hail during filming.
The Witches of Eastwick star was almost blown off the edge of the Cuillin Mountains in Skye, Scotland after Vaghn insisted continuing the shoot despite the fierce weather.
She says, "They literally had to anchor me in case I fell off the edge of the cliff. And the director was brutal - he just kept filming.
"I thought I was being jabbed in the side by my make-up artist with her powder brush - but it turned out to be my first experience of good, hard Scottish hail.
"The weather was fierce but, if we’d waited a month, I’m told that Scotland has little bugs that bite us - you call them midges.
"So it was a choice between being hailed on or eaten alive. But one of the gifts of the job is that you go places you wouldn’t otherwise get to visit."

Actor JIM CAREY urged the UN Security Council to ban all international arms shipments to Myanmar in a bid to end the suppression of pro-democracy protestors. The comic actor urged the Council to take action on Friday (5Oct07) after Burmese security forces raided monasteries, imposed curfews and killed 10 when up to 100,000 people protested against the regime.
Speaking the day before the US Campaign for Burma (6Oct07) - with marches and protests organised in response to the brutality in Myanmar and the detention of opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi - he says, "This is a government that uses its weapons not in self defence, but against its own citizens.
"The time has come for the United Nations Security Council to start acting less like a group of corporations and more like united nations."

Reggae singer JIMMY CLIFF won’t be giving U.K. Conservative leader DAVID CAMERON his vote despite the party using one of his hits recently.
The Jamaican musician, now known as Dr Cliff, was amused to have his song You Can Get It If You Really Want played after Cameron’s speech at the Tory party conference in Blackpool, England on Wednesday (3Oct07) - but he said he is not a fan of the party.
He says, "I’ve never voted in my life.
"But I’m from the lower class of society and I tend to support them rather than the upper class. It’s not that I don’t have friends or family in the upper classes - I do - but I always prefer to support the lower classes."

GERI HALLIWELL has sparked a row with her newly reunited SPICE GIRLS bandmates after she revealed the top secret name of their new single - according to reports.
Halliwell announced the single release, their first in seven years, to British chat show GMTV on Friday (05Sep07).
She said, "I’m not too sure if I’m going to get in trouble for telling you this because I haven’t discussed it with the other girls. The Spice Girls’ new single is finished and it’s out on 19 November and it’s called Headlines. However, the other members are said to be annoyed at the impromptu announcement, reports British newspaper The Daily Star.
A source tells the paper, "They will be furious Geri has let slip the name of their new single." However, a spokesperson denies the rift, explaining, "Everything’s cool with the girls. No-one’s angry with Geri about her giving the name of the single away. It was all part of the plan."

The rocker, who was charged after punching his love rival Tommy Lee at the MTV VMAs in Las Vegas last month (Sep07), said he was concerned their feud could affect his 14-year-old son and Tommy Lee’s children he has with actress Pamela Anderson.
Speaking to U.S chatshow host Larry King he says, "You’ve got to remember, too, there’s kids involved here, I know after the fact that Tommy wanted go apologize to MTV and Alicia Keys and everybody, and not to disrespect them at all, but the only thing I was thinking about was my son and his two kids, and how does this affect them? "(My son) has to go to school. He’s the one that’s got to deal with these antics.

Jena Mayor MURPHY R MCMILLAN has slammed singer JOHN MELLENCAMP’s new song for supporting the six black youths accused of attacking a white school friend.
Despite a host of stars backing the accused six in Louisiana, Mayor McMillin said the song with lyrics like "Jena take your nooses down" has gone too far.
He says, "The town of Jena has for months been mischaracterized in the media and portrayed as the epicenter of hatred, racism and a place where justice is denied.
"However, the Mellencamp video is so inflammatory, so defamatory, that a line has been crossed and enough is enough." A statement from rocker Mellencamp says, "The song is not written as an indictment of the people of Jena but, rather, as a condemnation of racism." Four members of the group face aggravated second-degree battery and conspiracy charges resulting from an attack on a white student in Jena, Louisiana. Two of the teenagers have been charged with attempted murder.

Rock matriarch SHARON OSBOURNE has implored BRITNEY SPEARS to leave Los Angeles and immediately enrol in a therapy program.
Osbourne believes Spears, who lost physical custody of her two sons to her ex-husband Kevin Federline earlier this week (begs01Oct07), can stage a successful comeback as long as she takes time off to completely reinvigorate herself first.
Osbourne says, "My heart goes out to her. She’s a very young woman, she’s been successful her entire life.
"This girl has worked herself to death. I’ve seen her schedules that she’s done for year after year after year, of touring and recording… This girl has never taken a break, until she got married and had two babies.
"I think that a bit of it is she’s got time off, she’s trying to be a teenager again because she wasn’t allowed to be a teenager because of her career.
"I think that she’s lost the plot, she needs help and she’s got to get herself away from L.A. Go away and get some therapy. She’s gonna come back and be the Britney that we love and know."

LINDSAY LOHAN is dancing her way back to good health - the actress enjoyed regular tango lessons during her recent stay in rehab.
The 21-year-old started learning how to tango before checking into rehab in Utah in July (07), and her Los Angeles-based dance teacher regularly flew in to keep her on her toes during her stay.
Tango coach Gloria Otero tells In Touch Weekly magazine, "I have been going to Utah for the past three weeks. We practice on Fridays and Saturdays. It’s been really good working with her… She has become a great dancer." Lohan reportedly left rehab on Friday (05Oct07).

Pop superstar JANET JACKSON is writing a book about her weight struggles.
The All For You singer is chronicling her fluctuating weight battles in the currently untitled book, which will also include nutritional dieting tips.
She says, "I’m writing a book on my journey of weight loss and weight gain.
"I’m really coming from the soul with it, and what I was going through at different times in my life and what possibly brought it about for myself." Jackson admits she was unable to look at her own reflection when she put on 60 pounds (27 kilograms) last year (06).
She adds, "I could not believe how big I was, how heavy I really was. I would see myself in the mirror, but I wouldn’t look too often. I didn’t want to get used to that image."
