KEVIN FEDERLINE shocked court watchers minutes ago when he turned up for a hearing into his ongoing child custody dispute with ex-wife BRITNEY SPEARS, sporting an eyepatch.
The rapper/dancer, who has been handed physical custody of the couple’s two young sons, was not expected to join attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan at the Los Angeles hearing.
He arrived outside court wearing a pinstriped suit and sunglasses, attempting to disguise his eye accessory. He refused to speak to reporters and wouldn’t answer questions about how he had injured his eye.
Spears did not show up for the hearing. Her attorneys are currently in court asking the judge to change his mind about his custody ruling.

SIR MICK JAGGER feared he’d never find a long-forgotten song he once recorded with JOHN LENNON - until the late BEATLE’s ex-girlfriend revealed she had saved the recording.
The Rolling Stones star almost ditched his plan to include Too Many Cooks (Spoil The Soup), which Lennon produced in the mid-1970s, from his new solo compilation album, because he couldn’t find a decent copy.
He explains, "I was trying to find the master and I was digging around - one was destroyed in a fire, one was given to a wife in a divorce who threw it out.
"We did find a good master - May Pang, who was John’s girlfriend at the time, gave me the master."

LATEST: Actress PAMELA ANDERSON insists she isn’t engaged, despite successfully applying for a marriage license in Las Vegas on Saturday (29Sep07).
The former Baywatch beauty made her application, which is valid for a year, with poker player Rick Salomon.
But mother-of-two Anderson - who has been married twice before, to Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee and Kid Rock - claims she and Salomon applied for the wedding license just in case they decide to get married.
Anderson says, "I’m not really engaged. I don’t know what I am… we may never get that far." Salomon is best known for ’starring’ alongside Paris Hilton in sex tape 1 Night In Paris.

JUDE LAW has spoken out about his recent assault arrest, revealing police officers were embarrassed during his booking process.
The Alfie star was stunned to find police on the doorstep of his London home after an altercation with a photographer who provoked him in the street and then filed a complaint against the actor.
Law says, "This chap basically set about provoking me and ended up swinging a camera at me and it all got a little nasty.
"We had a little bit of a set to and I go home, and next thing I know there’s a knock on the door and it’s the police and apparently he’s asking for my arrest. They’re really embarrassed because they know this thing is a set up." But Law accompanied the officers to a local police station, where he was booked - while the paparazzo he allegedly attacked waited outside.
He adds, "They (police) spy (him) out the window… with his camera, waiting for me to leave the station so that he can get another photo for the story.
"Luckily the policeman hides me in the back of his car… and drives me down the road and drops me off." But the unnamed snapper insists Law’s account of what happened isn’t quite as harmless as the actor suggests.
He tells WENN, "I was at a bus stop near Jude’s house but I wasn’t taking pictures of him. My camera was still in the bag.
"He was by himself when he recognised me and started accusing me of being a paedophile and that all I wanted to do was take pictures of his children.
"He then punched me in the face and started kicking me. I was shocked at his behaviour."

ANNA NICOLE SMITH’s longtime companion HOWARD K. STERN and the bodyguard who attempted to revive the actress as she lay dying are locked in a new legal battle over alleged stolen photographs.
Stern’s attorney L. Lin Wood is advising media groups to steer clear of photos Moe ‘Big Moe’ Brighthaupt is offering round, because he claims they were obtained illegally.
The images range from sweet family shots of Anna Nicole and her baby daughter Dannielynn to disturbing images of the tragic actress/model throwing up.
In a statement released on Wednesday (03Oct07), Wood says, "Shortly after I was retained by Howard Stern, I received firsthand information that Moe Brighthaupt had contacted tabloids offering for sale one or more photographs of Anna Nicole Smith.
"Yesterday, photographs of Anna Nicole and (baby daughter) Dannielynn were posted on various internet websites. These photographs are the property of the estate of Anna Nicole Smith and were stolen from her camera shortly after her death.
"Big Moe denies selling the photographs but admits that he is distributing them. His misappropriation of estate property is unlawful and his stated motives for doing so are not credible.
"The estate shall pursue all available remedies against any individual or entity involved in the unauthorised distribution or publication of these, or any other, stolen photographs." But Brighthaupt insists Stern and Wood are in the wrong and he has never stolen anything from his former mistress.
He says, "Big Moe would never seek to profit from the disturbing photographs on various internet websites.
"Big Moe continues to mourn the death of his close friends but continues to question why (these) pictures of Anna Nicole Smith were ever taken in the first place."

PAMELA ANDERSON ‘lied’ to former husband KID ROCK about a miscarriage in a bid to stop her ex from attending a basketball game with a pal, according to the rocker himself.
Rock - real name Robert Ritchie - reveals his then-wife wanted him to join her on a film set in Vancouver, Canada when he had made other plans with Sandra Bullock’s husband Jesse James.
And when he turned the actress down, she allegedly made up a story about miscarrying his child - in a bid to make him feel terrible.
Rock tells Rolling Stone magazine, "I have (Los Angeles) Lakers seats on the floor, and I’m gonna go to the Lakers game with my friend Jesse James.
"I’m like, ‘Baby, I got these tickets. I’ll see you on the weekend there,’ and that leads into her saying, ‘You don’t care about me, blah blah blah.’ "She finally comes up with this: ‘I just had a miscarriage…’ and hangs the phone up." Rock then chartered a plane and flew to Vancouver.
He adds, "When I get there, she’s partying at this restaurant, drinking champagne, jumping on the tables. I’m thinking, ‘That’s a quick recovery from a miscarriage.’" Anderson is refusing to comment about her ex’s remarks, stating, "I hope he’s happy in life. We were married for four months. If he has nothing nice to say about me, then please tell him to stop talking about me."

Italian-American legend ROBERT DE NIRO has shocked fans - by revealing his Irish family roots.
The Goodfellas star admits he knows little of his Gaelic ancestors’ history, but he’s now planning to research his family tree in Ireland.
He says, "I’m trying to do that now, as a matter of fact. I’m going to do that soon." Recalling a trip to Ireland in 1962, aged 19, De Niro adds, "I hitchhiked from Dublin to Galway and took the ferry out to the Aran Islands, and then I went down through the south.
"People gave me blankets for sleeping outside and I had breakfast with them in the morning. They were very friendly."

Hollywood superstar MATT DAMON is cutting back the number of movies he makes, after receiving an ultimatum from his wife LUCIANA BARROSO.
Damon’s hectic work schedule worried Barroso, who has a 16-month-old daughter with the Ocean’s Thirteen actor, so much she insisted he spend more time with his family.
Damon says, "(Luciana asked me) to take a break from work. She saw a pile of scripts, and when I told her they were the movies I was supposed to shoot in the fall, she asked me if I still wanted to be her husband."

MAHLON CLARK, an in-demand clarinetist who performed with FRANK SINATRA and MADONNA, has died in Los Angeles.
Renowned for his performances on a series of film soundtracks, including When Harry Met Sally and Dick Tracy, Clark is perhaps best remembered for his work on Henry Mancini’s Hatari theme, Baby Elephant Walk.
He played on Sinatra’s In The Wee Small Hours album and collaborated with Madonna on her 1990 album I’m Breathless.

Tony Award-winning actor TONY GRIZZARD has died in hospital in New York of complications from lung cancer.
The stage and screen star was 79 when he passed away at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center on Monday (01Oct07).
Grizzard starred in movies like Advise & Consent and Comes A Horseman and won a Best Supporting Actor Emmy for the 1980 TV movie The Oldest Living Graduate.
But he’s best known as a Broadway star. After making his debut as Paul Newman’s brother in The Desperate Hours he won Tony nominations for roles in The Disenchanged in 1959 and Big Fish, Little Fish in 1961.
Grizzard won a Tony in 1996 for his performance in a revival of Edward Albee’s A Delicate Balance.

The Entourage star will play the title character in National Lampoon’s 301: The Legend Of Awesomest Maximus Wallace Leonidas.

American TV star JASON WAHLER has blamed reality show THE HILLS for exacerbating his alcohol problems.
The 20-year-old checked into rehab in May (07) after a string of booze-related arrests, including an incident in 2006 in which Wahler assaulted and hurled racial abuse at a tow-truck driver.
And despite being under legal drinking age in Los Angeles, Wahler, who is now sober and engaged to marry tennis player Katja Decker-Sadowski, insists being well-known in Hollywood only made his drinking worse.
He explains, "I definitely think being on The Hills influenced my problems.
"You go out in L.A. and club owners and promoters want people on TV to party at their clubs. They throw bottles at you.
"It was 100 per cent part of the problem." Wahler also believes he’s far from fully recovered, because people want young stars to fall off the wagon in spectacular style.
He adds, "No one is pulling for anyone in Hollywood. They want everyone to fail at being sober. No one helps young stars get their life on track."

Former child star DANNY BONADUCE has been named as the suspect in a felony battery report after allegedly beating up a U.S. reality TV star at an awards show.
The Partridge Family star stunned the audience at the Fox Reality Channel Really Awards on Tuesday night (02Oct07) when he jumped up onstage and attacked Survivor star Jonny Fairplay.
The reality star lost a few teeth in the fracas, according to TMZ.com.
Speaking on the Adam Carolla radio show in Los Angeles on Wednesday (03Oct07), co-host Bonaduce admitted he has had a thing against Fairplay ever since the reality TV star lied about his grandmother dying, in order to get sympathy on the show.
Bonaduce revealed the fight started after Fairplay - real name Jon Dalton poked fun at him from the stage.

STAR TREK and HEROES star GEORGE TAKEI has been honoured with his very own asteroid.
A huge rock floating around between Mars and Jupiter has been renamed 7307 Takei.
Takei, who played Hikaru Sulu in the original Star Trek TV series, says, "I am now a heavenly body. It (honour) came out of the clear, blue sky - just like an asteroid." The asteroid, which was discovered by two Japanese astronomers in 1994, was formerly known as 1994 GT9.
The renaming has been approved by officials at the International Astronomical Union’s Committee On Small Body Nomenclature.

Police have been called to the set of the new INDIANA JONES movie following the theft of computers and photographs.
Crew members noticed the items were missing on Monday (01Oct07) and immediately alerted director Steven Spielberg.
The movie mogul’s publicists have confirmed the theft but refused to comment further because "a law enforcement investigation is ongoing".
The latest setback comes a week after film extra Tyler Nelson breached a confidentiality agreement and revealed plot details about the new film, Indiana Jones & The Kingdom Of The Skull, to a reporter on his local paper in Oklahoma.

The group’s Still Feels Good, which opened strongly with a 547,000 sales week, is their third consecutive number one.

RANDY VAN HORNE, The man behind TV themes for THE FLINTSTONES and THE JETSONS has lost his battle with cancer at the age of 83.
The beloved studio musician recorded a series of famous TV themes with his group The Randy Van Horne Singers.
The easy listening star’s band was also a regular act on The Nat King Cole Show.
Although primarily recording for Hanna-Barbera animated TV shows, Van Horne also sang for TV and radio ads.
He also recorded a series of albums, including a collaborative project with Latin easy listening legend Juan Garcia Esquivel.
Van Horne went on to become a big band leader, but continued performing solo in clubs around Los Angeles.
