NEWTON GETS BAKING FOR NEW FILM
Actress THANDIE NEWTON’s new film role helped her perfect her baking skills.
The Mission: Impossible II star plays a master baker in hit British comedy Run, Fat Boy, Run and admits she took the role so seriously she signed up for cooking classes.
She tells WENN, "I actually did training for that. The wonderful woman would come and we’d spend the afternoon together just baking and creating cakes.
"The actual cake you see in the movie, I genuinely re-decorated that." And Newton’s two kids couldn’t be happier with mum’s baking skills.
She explains, "There was one time I made a gingerbread and I gave my little one a slice and she said, ‘That’s disgusting.’ I tried it later and it was absolutely foul.
"I think that I thought the sugar was bicarbonate of soda, so it was a disaster. I’m a much better baker now."
