Actress KATE WALSH was amazed to receive a note in her mailbox from the paparazzi - recommending the wall she’s building outside her home to maintain her privacy is unnecessary.
Walsh and new husband, movie mogul Alex Young, live in the Los Feliz district of Los Angeles and wanted to shield their home from the photographers gathered across the street.
And just after builders began work on a brick wall along the property’s perimeter, Walsh received her unexpected letter.
She says, "We’re building up our front wall for some privacy and we got a note from one of the paparazzi in the mailbox, saying ‘We noticed you’re going to be building up your wall, but we just want to tell you, you really don’t need to, you just need to put some more shrubs in and then we can’t get a good picture. British singer GEORGE MICHAEL was forced to hide his sexuality from his late mother - despite feeling like "a fraud".
The Fast Love hitmaker refused to tell his mother Lesley he was gay - because he wanted to protect her from the possibility he could contract AIDS.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs show, he says,"AIDS was the predominant feature of being gay in the 1980s and early 1990s as far as any parent was concerned. "My mother was still alive and every single day would have been a nightmare for her thinking what I might have been subjected to." Lesley died from cancer in 1997.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star TERI HATCHER is to turn her life story into a TV series.
The actress, 42, has already sold the series, which is based on her autobiography Burnt Toast, to a U.S. network - but it is not yet clear whether Hatcher will play herself.
The programme will follow the ups and downs of her Hollywood career as well as her relationship disasters. She says, "It shows how not to go down the dark rabbit hole of pain and how to pull yourself out of there."

Pop princess KYLIE MINOGUE has censored her forthcoming documentary by cutting scenes which reveal glimpses of her body after reconstructive surgery.
The documentary follows the singer through her emotional return to the stage last year (06) after she was forced to take a year off after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
But the 39-year-old star has opted to remove scenes which show the physical scars following surgery.
A source tells British newspaper The News of the World, "Kylie wanted a warts-and -all documentary, but there are loads of scenes fans will never see.
"She wanted to show other cancer survivors there is nothing to be ashamed of.
"No scarring is visible because she had clever reconstructive surgery after the partial mastectomy to remove her cancer. But she felt it was too much and was extremely unhappy so got it chopped." Other scenes to be axed include an interview with her Neighbours co-star and one time boyfriend Jason Donovan and footage of her crying following her break-up with French actor Olivier Martinez.

Designers at French fashion house Louis Vuitton are creating a limited edition suitcase line for director WES ANDERSON’s new movie THE DARJEELING LIMITED.
The filmmaker’s brother, Eric, drew animals on the Louis Vuitton luggage that appears in the film - and the designers in Paris like the new look. Anderson says, "Eric drew, like, sort of stampeding animals on these suitcases and I think they’re gonna make some of them.
"They’re gonna do a little limited edition of them. It’ll probably be called something in French."

Actress THANDIE NEWTON’s new film role helped her perfect her baking skills.
The Mission: Impossible II star plays a master baker in hit British comedy Run, Fat Boy, Run and admits she took the role so seriously she signed up for cooking classes.
She tells WENN, "I actually did training for that. The wonderful woman would come and we’d spend the afternoon together just baking and creating cakes.
"The actual cake you see in the movie, I genuinely re-decorated that." And Newton’s two kids couldn’t be happier with mum’s baking skills.
She explains, "There was one time I made a gingerbread and I gave my little one a slice and she said, ‘That’s disgusting.’ I tried it later and it was absolutely foul.
"I think that I thought the sugar was bicarbonate of soda, so it was a disaster. I’m a much better baker now."

Veteran actress ELIZABETH TAYLOR is not planning to marry her companion JASON WINTERS, according to a close pal of the star.
Media reports in the U.S. have been speculating as to when Taylor, 75, will be announcing plans to wed 47-year-old Winters - in what would be her ninth marriage.
But Martin Delaney, a friend of the couple and the founder of a San Francisco Aids charity, has dismissed the reports as "silly stuff".
He says, "I don’t know how a marriage between them could take place. That’s not the kind of relationship they’ve got. I find it all pretty amusing.
"Elizabeth is friends with Jason and his long-term friend, Erik Sterling… I know Elizabeth is very close to Jason, but the idea of them marrying is silly stuff." Taylor was last married to construction worker Larry Fortensky in 1991, but the relationship ended in divorce in 1996.

Actor SEAN PENN has seen his hopes of becoming an author dashed after his first novel was lost in a fire.
The Oscar winner had spent months writing the unnamed book, but his only copy was destroyed in the blaze.

Hollywood filmmaker STEVEN SPIELBERG is threatening to axe scenes starring actor TYLER NELSON in the upcoming INDIANA JONES movie after he leaked the plot line to an Oklahoma newspaper.
Upcoming star Nelson, 24, was so excited about landing a role alongside Harrison Ford and Cate Blanchett in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, he revealed the plot and every major scene to local paper, the Edmond Sun.
And now Spielberg is considering cutting all scenes featuring Nelson from the film following his betrayal.
A spokesman for Spielberg says, "Who knows if he’s ever going to work in town again?" The new Indiana Jones movie has been shrouded in secrecy since filming began earlier this year (07). The title of the sequel was only made public by actor Shia LaBeouf at the MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas on 9 September (07).

GIRLS ALOUD singer CHERYL COLE has accused the British media of "glorifying" drug use by publishing photographs of troubled rocker PETE DOHERTY.
The 23-year-old pop star condemned the press for reporting on the Babyshambles frontman’s recent (May07) arrest for drug possession, insisting his image is having a profound effect on impressionable teenagers.
She says, "I cant stand it when papers print photos of people like him.
"It glorifies everything I hate - being a smackhead. Heroin is devil’s dust, it ruins lives and families, and everything it touches.

SHARON OSBOURNE is "terrified" of a crazed fan who stalks her every move - and can’t understand why she would want to follow her around the world.
The obsessed British woman, known only as Doreen, has been trailing Osbourne on her travels from the U.S. to the U.K. - turning up on the 54-year-old’s doorstep when she’s least expected.

British musician JOOLS HOLLAND has vowed never to take drugs again - after suffering a panic attack induced by cocaine.
The former Squeeze star has ruled out any further experimentation with illegal substances after a cocaine binge in his youth left him needing urgent medical attention.
He says, "I suddenly felt that I was having a heart attack or going mad.
"A doctor was called and he told me it was a panic attack brought on by having taken cocaine two days previously.
"That terrified me so much I never wanted to take it again. I wouldn’t advise anyone to touch it in the first place."

Reformed British rockers THE POLICE will be honoured in France next week, in recognition of their lifetime contribution to music.
The trio - Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland - will be inducted into the Order of Arts and Letters on Monday (01Oct07), the culture ministry has announced.
Filmmaker David Lynch will also be awarded at the ceremony, where he will receive the Legion of Honour.

LATEST: Sexy actress JESSICA BIEL has turned down the chance to play comic book superhero WONDER WOMAN, according to reports.
The Illusionist star, 25, was last week (26Sep07) said to be in talks to take on the role in the forthcoming George Miller-directed movie Justice League Of America.
But U.S. publication Entertainment Weekly claims Biel has followed in Kate Beckinsale’s footsteps and declined the part.
The film will follow the adventures of an elite group of superheroes, including Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Aquaman and the Flash.

Rocker JOEL MADDEN has proposed to pregnant girlfriend NICOLE RICHIE - and the couple are planning to wed in October (07), according to reports.
Madden, 28, recently appeared on U.S. TV and revealed his hopes to make The Simple Life star his wife, but admitted he had no idea where or when.
He said, "Obviously, marriage is in our future. I don’t know when or where or how, but right now our priority is our family and the baby.

ANGELINA JOLIE has not been dropped as the face of fashion line St. John, despite reports to the contrary.
The Tomb Raider actress, 32, took on the role as brand ambassador in 2005, but recent reports allege Jolie had been fired from the position.
However, a spokesman for St. John has refuted the speculation.
