Parents whose children attend the same school as ANGELINA JOLIE and BRAD PITT’s adopted son MADDOX have been asked to respect the superstar couple’s privacy in a letter.
Officials at the Lycee Francais De New York school want parents to stop pestering Jolie and Pitt for autographs when they drop off and pick up their kids.
The letter, from the school’s director of operations Dan Cooke, reads: "Regretfully, I have seen some parents taking pictures, asking for autographs, talking to the media and even shouting at Ms
. Jolie and Mr
. Pitt for recognition.
"Therefore, in the best interests of the school and safety of your child(ren), I must ask for everyone to please respect the family’s privacy and discontinue these practices." Cooke goes on to make clear that Jolie and Pitt were keen to avoid any disruption: "I want to make you aware that before the first day of school, I met with their security team to discuss the best manner for them to drop off and pick up their son.
"Our foremost goal was to cause the least amount of disruption to the school and to ensure the security of all of our students and families."

BOY WINS CAMEO IN FERRELL MOVIE AT AUCTION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:23 pm

LATEST: A 10-year-old boy has landed a cameo role in WILL FERRELL’s new movie, after his father paid $47,100 (£23,550) for the magical moment at an auction.
Ferrell auctioned the part in new film Step Brothers earlier this week (begs24Sep07) - to help raise cash for a college pal’s cancer charity.
A man from Dallas, Texas - who has asked to remain anonymous - submitted the highest bid, and has handed the cameo appearance prize to his son.
In a statement, the winner says, "Winning this auction means a lot to me on a very personal basis. I lost my mother to ovarian cancer a few years ago, so I feel fortunate that my 10-year-old and I are able to participate in an event involving Cancer For College and Will Ferrell." Ferrell adds, "We are overwhelmed with the response and generosity to the auction. This money will help so many young people with their dreams of attending college." The 10-year-old boy will meet Ferrell at the 14th annual Cancer For College golf tournament dinner at Temecula Creek Inn, California on 28 September (07) before filming starts in October (07).

WILSON ‘HAPPY’ FOR MOVIE WITH SUICIDAL ROLE TO BE RELEASED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:20 pm

Troubled actor OWEN WILSON is "very happy" his new movie is to be released in the U.S. on Friday (29Sep07), despite the fact he plays a man with suicidal tendencies.
A depressed Wilson allegedly slashed his wrists in an apparent suicide attempt at his home in Santa Monica, California last month (Aug07).
And, in a bizarre coincidence, his latest movie character is involved in a deliberate motorcycle accident in The Darjeeling Limited.
But director Wes Anderson - a longtime friend of Wilson’s - insists the actor doesn’t want the movie’s release postponed in light of his recent troubles.
Anderson says, "That’s not what I want and not what Owen wants. Owen’s very happy we’re releasing it now." The Darjeeling Limited co-writer Roman Coppola adds, "There’s the showbusiness adage of the show must go on. We’re all sympathetic about our friend’s well being. I haven’t spoken with him about this but I think he’d be very eager that the film be shown. He’s proud of the work we did.
"In terms of art and personal life echoing one another, that’s the proper way to make a movie. I’ve been witness to a lot of movies that my dad (Francis Ford Coppola) did and it’s very familiar to me that your personal life reflects the theme of the movie.
"To me it’s just a given that your life and the theme of the work is going to intertwine."

LENNOX DELIGHTED BY MASS RESPONSE TO AIDS ANTHEM LETTERS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:14 pm

ANNIE LENNOX was thrilled when all the women she sent letters to, asking them to join her on a new AIDS anthem, agreed to join her in the studio.
The singer/songwriter feared she’d be left to record powerful new track Sing all alone when her ambitious plan backfired - but all the superstars she asked to join her, jumped at the chance.
The women who congregated in the studio included Madonna, Pink, Celine Dion and Fergie.
Lennox tells Rolling Stone magazine, "Because the incidence of HIV AIDS is on the rise for women, especially in the pandemic across the whole of the African continent, I thought perhaps I could be of benefit by writing a song and empowering those women who do not have an international voice.
"I thought that if I could invite other female artists to join with me, that would be a really strong statement, so I sent out a lot of letters to various artists that I thought would be appropriate, and they all came back to me very positively.
"I’m so glad they’ve given me their voice and their endorsement of the issue."

JOLIE BLASTS U.S. MILITARY SPENDING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:29 pm

ANGELINA JOLIE has blasted the U.S. over Iraq, insisting the government’s war expenditure could be better spent on education.
The Oscar-winning actress and UN goodwill ambassador spoke out at the Clinton Global Initiative, an event organised by Bill Clinton to address the most pressing global concerns.
Urging the world to get its "priorities in order", she claimed a UNICEF appeal for educational needs was dwarfed by America’s military spending.
Jolie said, "The entire appeal equals about eight hours of current spending in Iraq. So just a few hours would send 150,000 children to school.
"Nothing wins more hearts and minds and nothing gives more freedom than education; and nothing is a better deterrent for conflict than an educated child,"
