TRUSTEE ACCUSED OF MISAPPROPRIATING BROWN’S MILLIONS
The estate of late soul man JAMES BROWN is missing $7 million (£3.5 million), according to administrators appointed to look after the singer’s fortune.
The authorities reported ex-trustee David Cannon may have misappropriated the missing millions when they appeared in a South Carolina court on Tuesday morning (25Sep07).
Judge Jack Early gave David Cannon, who has resigned as co-executor of Brown’s will, 10 days to pay $370,000 (£185,000) back to the estate.
Cannon repaid $350,000 (£175,000) last month (Aug07).
Brown’s children are attempting to remove all the trustees in charge of their father’s estate - and take over management themselves.
