ROBERT WYATT ENDS LIVE PERFORMANCE DROUGHT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:20 pm

Former SOFT MACHINE drummer ROBERT WYATT performed live onstage for the first time in 25 years on Saturday (22Sep07).
The wheelchair-bound 62-year-old made an unannounced appearance during a concert by jazz band The Dylan Howe Quintet at the Drill Hall in Lincoln, England to sing a cover of Thelonious Monk’s Round Midnight.
Wyatt tells NME.com, "It’s the first time I’d sung live in 25 years. I just felt it. If I don’t have time to think about it, then I can just sneak up on myself and do it, I suppose.
"It was great fun, I was even thinking of sitting in on the last number too."
