Romance is brewing on the set of TV hit HEROES - MASI OKA has admitted he’s got a crush on new castmate KRISTEN BELL.
The Japanese star of the show admits he’s smitten with the pretty blonde, who he took as his date to the Emmy Awards after his mother refused to fly to Los Angeles from Japan for the ceremony.
And he went public with his crush during an interview on U.S. TV show Ellen on Friday (21Sep07).
The 32 year old said, "Kristin is an absolutely amazing individual both on and off screen. We’re great friends. Everyone has a crush on her." But when host Ellen DeGeneres pried further, asking Oka, "Is she a good kisser or not?" the red-faced star replied, "I’m sure she is."

A dream almost cost SEAN PENN his new movie when the real-life subject of INTO THE WILD visited his mother in her sleep to tell her not to let the Oscar winner tell his story.
Penn had almost agreed the film rights with tragic adventurer Chris McCandless’ parents when the dead traveller appeared to his mum Billie one night.
McCandless, whose story of survival in Alaska was turned into Jon Krakauer’s bestseller Into The Wild, told his mother he didn’t want the film to be made.
Penn says, "I said to her then - and I meant it - that if I didn’t respect dreams I wouldn’t make movies, but that I would never lose a hunger for it; if anything changed, whether it was in a week, a month, a year or 10 years to let me know. Ten years later, I got the call." Penn immediately began working on the screenplay to his new movie and asked McCandless’ sister Carine to help him.

SALMA HAYEK was so desperate to land "any role" in pal JULIE TAYMOR’s new BEATLES movie musical, ACROSS THE UNIVERSE, she ended up playing 12 nurses in the film.
When the Latina heard her Frida director was making a movie featuring the songs of one of her favourite groups, she felt she had to be involved.
Taymor says, "She said, `Julie, what can I play? Isn’t there anything?’ There were all really young parts but I said, `OK, you can play one of the nurses.’ "She said, `Only one of the nurses?’ So I said, `Alright, you can be all of the nurses.’ I think there were 12 in the beginning and we cut it down."

Knoxville, Tennessee Mayor BILL HASLAM proclaimed Tuesday (18Sep07) JESSICA ALBA & DANE COOK Day as the two stars of new movie GOOD LUCK CHUCK arrived in town to raise a small fortune for a local charity.
The couple attended a screening of their new comedy, which fans paid $75 (GBP37.50) per seat at a local cinema.
The charity premiere raised $260,000 (GBP130,000) for Variety of Eastern Tennessee, a charity benefiting children with disabilities.

LORDS OF DOGTOWN star EMILE HIRSCH lost 41 pounds (18.5 kilograms) while making wilderness film IN THE WILD with SEAN PENN - because the director insisted on the actor staying fit.
In the film Hirsch plays real-life adventurer Chris McCandless, a top student who gave everything away to charity and hiked across Alaska, and Penn wanted his actor to get a taste of his character’s struggles on the journey.
Hirsch says, "I went from 156 pounds when I got the part to 115 pounds, my lowest weight. I lost 41 pounds.
"I was perhaps a little bit overweight when I got the part, so I had to get into shape, and I kind of made it a lot harder on myself, being heavier than Sean wanted me to be.
"But I had a willingness to punish myself by working out… I’d do a full day of kayaking and hiking and then I’d be jumping on the treadmill for an hour every day." Hirsch admits the vigorous fitness regime has turned him into a bit of a health nut: "A lot of the physical aspects have stuck with me. I still run a lot and I never ran before the film."

Movie star JAMES WOODS wasn’t surprised when he heard reports O.J. SIMPSON had allegedly killed his wife NICOLE - because she had confided in him at a charity dinner.
Simpson had requested The Boost star’s company at a dinner he was hosting after a golf tournament in Palm Springs, California and Woods found himself sitting next to O.J.’s stunning wife.
Upon learning the actor was going through a divorce, Nicole revealed she was unhappy in her marriage - and Woods thought the mystery blonde was chatting him up.
He recalls, "I’d never met her before… and I’m taking the bait… and I think, `Well, she’s really unhappy, this is great… I guess I’m being set up and so on.’ "And then all of a sudden… she said, `You should try being married to a big, famous black athlete.’" Woods then received an awkward offer to join the Simpsons for a late-night drink that he declined and then he received a note from Nicole four days later.
He remembers, "It was this long note about `O.J.’s gonna be out of town and maybe you’d like to get together…’ I’m thinking, `This can’t be possible.’" Woods severed ties with O.J. and his wife but then realised he could be called to testify during the Naked Gun star’s double murder trial in 1994.
He adds, "My assistant comes across the letter and the photograph of us sitting together and she goes, `You could get subpoenaed.’" Woods famously found himself at the O.J. trial when his mother insisted on visiting the Los Angeles courthouse, and the actor was invited to take a seat behind the accused.

Actor COLIN FARRELL’s former dresser has settled a lawsuit she filed against the producers of MIAMI VICE, after fracturing her jaw in an on-set mishap.
Joulles Wright claimed she was riding on a speedboat when an improperly secured bumper broke off and struck her in the face.
The plaintiff claimed she needed surgery after the 2005 accident and had to have her jaw wired.
The suit, which was filed in June, 2006 was settled on Thursday (20Sep07).
Terms have not been disclosed.

R&B star ASHANTI lost eight pounds (3.6 kilograms) this summer (07) on the Master Cleanser diet.
The pretty singer felt she needed to shape up for a run of promotional appearances for new film Resident Evil: Extinction and new album Declaration and so she spent a week eating nothing.
She explains, "I did the lemon-pepper-maple syrup diet for seven days.
"When I got really hungry, I ate fruit. I lost eight pounds and kept it off."

LATEST: SYSTEM OF A DOWN star SHAVO ODADJIAN has been listed as a witness to the fight that landed MASTODON star BRENT HINDS in a Las Vegas hospital with brain haemorrhaging and a broken nose.
Initial reports suggested Hinds had been beaten up while crowdsurfing during a performance in the Foo Fighters’ hotel suite after the MTV Video Music Awards on 9 September (07).
But new police reports indicate Odadjian and musician William Hudson were involved in an altercation with the singer immediately before he was taken to hospital.
According to the police report, which is based on first-hand accounts and hotel-security video footage, Hinds attacked Odadjian outside the Mandalay Bay resort, prompting the rocker and his pal Hudson to retaliate.
According to the Las Vegas Weekly newspaper, an unidentified friend of Hinds then rushed to the singer’s aid and apologised to Odadjian and Hudson, explaining the Mastodon star was "just drunk." Police were called to the scene and both Odadjian and Hudson were questioned.
No charges have been filed but Hudson has been listed as a "suspect," and is facing a possible charge of "battery with substantial bodily harm."

OZZY OSBOURNE will think twice about staying overnight in Prague, Czech Republic again - his last visit in June (07) cost him and longstanding sidekick ZAKK WYLDE $45,000 (GBP22,500).
The rockers decided to throw a TV out of the window of their sixth floor suite after Ozzy revealed it was the only "rock `n’ roll thing" he had never done.
Wylde admits he knew the stunt would be expensive, but he was stunned when hotel bosses charged the pair $45,000 for the night.
He tells Modern Guitars Magazine, "The next day, Oz got charged $34,000 because they couldn’t use the suite for 34 days because the window was broke, which was bulls**t.
"I got clipped $10,000 for that f**kin’ TV. This TV must’ve f**kin’ cost them about $500… I go, `This TV had better give a f**kin’ b**wjob and a h**djob and eat my ass. $10,000 for a f**kin’ TV? This thing’s a f**kin’ piece of s**t.
"(So it was) $10,000 for a TV, about $1,000 in beer, $34,000 for the room, and the look on Ozzy’s face? Priceless. You can’t make this s**t up."

Pop star SEAL has confirmed reports he’s recorded a duet with his supermodel wife HEIDI KLUM on his new album.
The romantic track, Wedding Day, will appear on the Killer singer’s fifth CD, System.
Seal’s publicist reveals the British singer wrote the song for Klum on the day they wed in Mexico in May 2005.

AEROSMITH have been forced to cancel the most successful concert in Maui, Hawaii’s history because they can’t make it in time.
The group rescheduled a show in Chicago, Illinois and have now realised they can’t get to Maui in time for Wednesday’s (26Sep07) concert.
A spokesman for the group’s management states, "It is not logistically possible for the band’s equipment to make it to Hawaii in time for the scheduled Maui show.
"The band would like to apologise for this inconvenience to their fans." The Maui concert had broken all previous box office records for shows on the island.
Aerosmith’s private show scheduled for the University of Hawaii-Manoa on 29 September (07) will go ahead as planned.

Former RAMONES drummer RICHARD REINHARDT is suing the estate of late bandmate JOHNNY RAMONE and the punk group’s management company, claiming he’s owed $1 million (GBP500,000) in royalties.
Reinhardt, aka Richie Ramone, claims he never signed over the rights to six songs he wrote for the group that are currently available as Internet downloads.
The drummer, who spent four years in the band from 1983 to 1987, claims he’s owed cash for songs like Somebody Put Something in My Drink, I’m Not Jesus and I Know Better Now.
Reinhardt insists there was never a written deal authorising the sale of the songs digitally.
He has asked a federal court to issue an injunction preventing further use of his compositions without permission, while he fights for the cash he claims he’s owed.

GEORGE CLOONEY is recovering from a hairline fracture of his rib after a motorcycle accident in New Jersey.
The movie hunk and his new girlfriend, Sarah Larson, were riding around Palisades on Friday afternoon (21Sep07) when they were hit by a car.
Both were taken to hospital for treatment; Clooney had suffered a rib fracture and road rash, while the accident left Larson with a broken foot.
Both Clooney and Larson has been released from Palisades Medical Center when WENN went to print.
