SIR ELTON JOHN is calling on the U.K government to send more money to alleviate the AIDS crisis in Africa The legendary musician is urging British Prime Minister Gordon Brown to action his G8 promise to make HIV/AIDS treatment universally accessible by 2010. The Rocket Man hitmaker, 60, says, "I believe Gordon Brown’s leadership and vision on this issue is urgently needed, right now. "If the U.K. were to provide £700 million ($1.4 billion) over three years, tripling its annual contribution by 2010, it would challenge the rest of the world to follow suit."
