SNIPES TO APPEAL TALENT AGENCY PAYOUT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:39 pm

LATEST: Actor WESLEY SNIPES has vowed to appeal a judge’s order to pay out $1.7 million (£850,000) in fees to a talent agency who helped him land film roles.
The 45-year-old star was told by a judge at Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this week (begs17Sep07) he must hand over the outstanding amount to the United Talent Agency (UTA), after they helped secure him film roles in Blade 3, Chaos, Middle Man and The Shooter.
It is the latest financial wrangle involving Snipes, who faces a court case in Florida later this year (07) on tax evasion charges.
But Snipes was surprised to learn of UTA’s lawsuit and is hoping to have the decision overturned.
A spokesman for Snipes says, "Mr. Snipes has and will continue to honour valid contractual responsibilities.
"Consistent with that commitment, Mr. Snipes had been in discussions with UTA about the underlying dispute and was shocked to learn that UTA abruptly abandoned discussions and chose to take legal action."
