Saved by a crash
A US man saved his own life by crashing his car into a tree while choking on an onion ring.
Bryan Rocco blacked out when he choked on the takeaway fast food while driving, but the force of the collision dislodged the snack from his throat.
The 43-year-old said: "I was on my way back to the office and stopped and bought a chicken sandwich and onion rings.
"I started to choke on one of the onion rings and then I guess I just blacked out.
"Next thing I knew, I was on my side, facing the opposite direction.
"The whole thing caught me by surprise. I was going out, blacking out and then I’m awake." Rocco was not badly hurt but his company-owned Scion was almost totally destroyed in the crash.
